19.5.1 HOW TO SUBMIT BUGS, TYPOS, ISSUES AND IDEAS PROPERLY.
To help the Administration better serve you, it is important for you
to do your best to report bugs, typos, ideas, even issues in a proper,
concise manner. There are several things you can do to make your report
worthwhile - which will be covered below.
BUGS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bugs are one of the most important things submitted - this can be errors with skills, or denizens, and so on. Here is what you should do:
* Check HELP BUGS to make sure you are using the appropriate command to submit your bug. For example, HELPBUG can be used to submit bugs in the helpfiles.
* If the bug is related to a skill, please name the skill in the manner of naming the skillset, then the skill, then the problem. For example:
BUG Nihilism Accursed is broken - despite having the skill, I cannot pact to a second demon lord!
* If the bug is related to a denizen or an item, then you can use QUESTBUG even if the issue is not related to a quest. By including the denizens or item's number, you will help the admin identify the issue faster. You can find the number of the denizen or item by doing IH or INFO HERE while in the room with them. For example:
QUESTBUG archdemon1234 This demon is not responding at all, no matter what I do or is done to it - it does not even respond to being attacked.
QUESTBUG backpack5678 The backpack is not allowing us to place items within it, even though it is empty.
QUESTBUG miakoda511 Miakoda is not giving out leaves when greeted.
* If the bug is related to you, then be descriptive! Saying 'My arm is broken' will not help us. Something like this might be more informative:
BUG After being hit in the head by a Blade Master, if I apply health to my head and don't completely heal it, I end up with a 'partially damaged left arm'. Likewise for my gut, except it is then a partially damaged RIGHT arm. If I completely heal the wounds on my head/gut it goes away, though without a curing message, which I would get if I had used regeneration to cure it. As far as I can tell, this affliction does nothing except mess up crippled limbs - if I have a partially damaged left arm and a crippled left arm, only the partially damaged part will show up on diagnose, and I can still use my left arm as normal.
* Don't spam bugs. It will not get it fixed faster - it will in fact take longer, as the report may be checked on again and use up valuable bug-fixing time.
* If you receive an untrapped error, you should not repeat the command and bug the problem immediately as bugging after an error like that attaches the code error to the bug for the admin. You might simply input:
BUG I attempted to kiss Fain, and received this.
TYPOS

* If the typo is in a room, then you should do something like this:
TYPOHERE In the third sentence, 'the' is spelled 'teh'.
* If the typo is in a denizen or item, then you should do this:
TYPO Marani 23456 has an extra 'and' in her third sentence description.
TYPO When given a dog, the magnagoran parrot number 31947 'etas' the brains, instead of eats them.
* If the typo is in a skill, then you should do this:
TYPO TELEPATHY PHOBIA misspells the word extremities in the 3rd person.
* If the typo is in a skill file, then you should do this:
TYPO AB SACRAMENTS INFIDEL has an extra 'the' in the last sentence.
* If the typo is an AB skill file in general and not a skill specifically within it, then do this:
TYPO AB DRUIDRY, Fury's explanation is missing a fullstop.
* If the typo is in a helpfile, then you should do this:
TYPO HELP GUIDES states we only have two guides, but we have three.
* If the typo is related to a message you see, like in a city, then:
TYPO Area Tolborolla has waves that hit the shore with a missing 'and'.
* If the typo is a Dream, or Emote, then do this:
TYPO Emote 'tentacles' has a spelling error in third person, 'teh'.
TYPO DREAMS: 'Mariah 'scrams' out in terror'.
ISSUES
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Issues should not be used to report bugs, or a typo. Issues are to be used for asking questions you cannot otherwise figure out from asking another player or by checking a helpfile (if it is a newbie related matter, then contact the Guides - HELP GUIDES) as well as reporting abuse by a player. Do not issue things frivolously.
