Health represents your physical well-being. When your health (which you can see by typing SCORE or by putting CONFIG PROMPT STATS on - see HELP PROMPT) reaches 0, you will, barring some special abilities and protections, die. Your maximum health may be increased in many ways: - by rising in level, - by acquisition of artifacts, - via various magical means, and - by completing certain quests Higher maximum health is always better than lower! Some player-vs-player skills cause damage partly based on maximum health. This means that with higher maximum health you should expect an increase in some damage received from other players, though the increase is not as great as the increase in health.
