23.3 DWELLERS

Dwellers are denizens that, unlike beasts, have no combat value. They can be humanoid or take the shape of pets but their primary function is to enhance roleplay. For example, a dweller could be a butler or a cat. Their name derives from the fact that they primarily dwell in aethermanses, aetherships, or homesteads, but they can also be selected as companions that may accompany you outside of their usual dwelling.

You can review your loyal dwellers with DWELLER LIST. Only one dweller can be marked as your companion at a time and you can change them once an hour. To select a companion you can use DWELLER COMPANION <dweller number>. Companions are made to reset to your inventory so you have quick access to them, and when a new one is selected, they are put back in their usual dwelling. Finally, depending on their purpose and reactions, some dwellers may be marked as unable to be selected as companions. This will be discussed during the customisation process.

As with all customisations, you should contact support@lusternia.com with your request. See HELP CUSTOMISATIONS for more information on the general rules and the process itself and HELP CUSTOMISATION EXAMPLES for examples of what your submission should contain.

DWELLER
-------

COST: 500 credits

  - A fully custom description and name.
  - Cannot permanently die.
  - Built-in reactions for ordering it around (HELP OWNER MANUAL).

  - Any add-ons that you request (see below).

GENERAL RULES
-------------

- Dwellers should not be copies of beasts (regular or custom).
- Dragons cannot be requested as dwellers.
- Loyal entities (such as summons) cannot be requested as dwellers.*
- Dwellers must be beings already existing in the world of Lusternia.**
- Dwellers should be no taller than 10 feet.
- Dwellers can possess unique names as part of their description (rather than "a tall butler" you could request "William, the butler").
- You can request up to three aliases for the dweller (for example: william, butler).
- Dwellers can have gender (incluing non-binary) or be marked genderless animals if appropriate.
- Dwellers looking like animals should either be actual animals or described as furrikin, not anthropomorphised animals.
- Dwellers cannot be ghosts, spectres, or spirits.
- Dwellers cannot be babies, children, or teenagers.
- You may purchase add-ons, either at the time of buying the dweller or any time afterwards.
- You must select a dwelling for your dweller upon purchase. It can be your inventory only if you own one.
- Dwellers can live in homesteads, see HELP HOMESTEADS for additional rules.

* This can be waived if your dweller is manse or homestead-bound only and cannot be set as your companion.

** This means that your dweller should be a type of being that already lives somewhere in Lusternia - either as a natural part of some area or has been previously accepted as a dweller (we may reject the request if the old dweller no longer matches today's standards though). This regards the type of being, not their job. Even if there were no butlers, a butler is acceptable. If you are not sure the type exists, feel free to ask (support@lusternia.com). If the type of dweller you would like to purchase does not meet this criteria, there is still a path for you to pursue - see Add-Ons.

ADD-ONS:
--------

1) Invincibility - 200 bound credits
   - Your dweller will not die.

2) Sentience - 100 bound credits
   - For dwellers that make sense to be sentient.
   - Order your dweller to speak and emote, pre-defined and custom emotes.

3) Wanderer - 100 bound credits
   - The dweller will wander around the dwelling.

3) Reactions - 100 bound credits each
   - See HELP REACTIONS for more information.

4) Shopkeeper - 500 bound credits
    - This must be requested by email to support@lusternia.com and is only available if you have a manse shop. This will enable the dweller to sell wares from your shop. The shopkeeper can only be set up in a manse and will not be available as a companion. This upgrade includes a reaction for the GREET emote which will also show that this dweller has wares for sale. The reaction should be along the line, "What would you like to purchase today?".

5) Mailing dweller - 100 bound credits.
   - Your dweller will deliver mail to others for you.

6) Delivery - 200 bound credits
   - This is a flavor skill that allows your dweller to deliver an item to a person who is online.
   - See HELP REACTIONS for more information.

7) Retriever - 200 bound credits
   - This is a flavor skill that allows you to send your dweller to retrieve items from a person who is online.
   - See HELP REACTIONS for more information.

8) Lore Review - 250 bound credits
   - If you would like to request a type of dweller that does not exist in Lusternia yet but you feel would make sense to exist, you can request it through the use of this add-on. You will only be charged on positive review of your request. The request will be rejected if we do not feel the dweller makes sense for the world of Lusternia.

TRADE-INS
---------

Dwellers may not be traded in at all - no tradein value, no refunds, no exchanges. Be sure that you want any dweller you purchase, because it will be yours for a very long time! That said, cosmetic updates to the dweller can be purchased at the cost of 50 bound credits per line changed. Remember these should be cosmetic!

REQUESTING A DWELLER
