An aethership is actually a creature known as an extradimensional algontherine entity. These entities do not have physical bodies, but rather reside within aetheric shells, such as aethermanses. When an algontherine is hatched within an aethermanse, it will immediately bond with the aethermanse owner and turn the aethermanse into an aethership. An aethership is capable of traveling through the aetherways. Once an aethership is created, other modules may be then added. The owner of the aethership is always considered the Captain.

Hull: The strength of the hull of an aethership can be upgraded with gold or intentional consumption of rooms. See details as below:
 - To upgrade your hull, you may use SHIP UPGRADE from within your ship. This costs 150000 gold and increases the hull by 50.
 - You may SHIP CONSUME HULL <direction> to destroy a room in your ship and add it to your hull free of charge. This will also destroy all objects and upgrades in the room, but the command will warn you about this before proceeding. We will not replace or refund any items, modules, or upgrades destroyed by this, so be careful.
 - You must now have a prerequisite number of rooms to upgrade past certain hull thresholds. These thresholds are: 5000 = 0 rooms, 10000 = 5 rooms, 25000 = 10 rooms, 50000 = 15 rooms, 75000 = 20 rooms, 100000 = 25 rooms.
 - You can SHIP RETRACT HULL to retract the hull strength, and will receive a refund of 75,000 gold. Note*: You can only RETRACT expansions you've already made.

Reserves: Except when at a dock on the prime material plane, aetherships constantly drain energy. All aetherships have an energy reserve that can hold up to 100 power. If the reserves drops to 0, the aethership will implode (killing all aboard). It is up to the commander to make sure this will never occur.

Power: Like mortal races, aetherships also have a personal power pool that is refreshed from its energy reserves. This power is used for special maneuvers and are shared by all modules in the aethership.

Aetherwill: Every crewmember who is hooked into a module has a measure of their willpower known as aetherwill. As you use aethercraft skills, your aetherwill begin to go down. The lower your aetherwill, the more chance that you will mess up your commands because of aetherwill fatigue. Thus, you will have to occasionally rest to recover your aetherwill.

The basic commands on a ship are:

SHIP LOOK
 - Look outside the ship to see where you are.

SHIP LOOK INFO
 - More detailed information on where the ship is.

SHIP STATUS
 - Basic information on the ship's status.

SHIP PERSONALITY [LIST|ADD|CLEAR]
 - Only the Captain of a ship may use this command.
 - Imprints certain 'personality' keywords into the algontherine mind.
