Celestian musings by Aerotan

Merit for August 2011

As I stand here by the Pool memories come unbidden,
Flowing like the tides, their intentions deeply hidden.
Wars and alliances both flash before my eyes,
Friends and lovers and enemies I despise
Raids on Nil and Celestial defense
Shielding the planes from a grave offense
In all the years I've called this my home,
Whether with a lover or all alone,
A sense of longing has called me along,
For hearth and heart, for love and Song,
And yet, I stand here, seeking some truth
A riddle lies unanswered, improper and uncouth.
What is it that keeps me here?
Month after month, year after year?
What drive do I have, what purpose in life?
To hold me here in peace and strife.
I still seek an answer, no matter the pain
And so here I stand, in sunshine or rain.
