Merian Ships
By Sekreh

Avast! A mainsail up on high
As Merian ships do sail on by
How curious, their decks so dry
And how the fish on them rely

If I could swim a thousand leagues
Without a touch of harsh fatigue
I'd have no ship to sail the sea
These things are objects of intrigue!

The tradewinds blow, the fish propelled!
From port to port as if compelled
They bring their goods and good upheld
As Golden words of Light are yelled

The bluefish captain and troutish crew
Load gold, fresh hemps, and honey too
To Delport they bid ‘Adieu'
And face the sea to carry through

I think one cannot help but wonder
As storms tear the sea asunder
If and when their ships bob under
Are our sailors still fit to flounder?

If their ship is well and sunk
Do they swim home and sit in a funk?
Then the boon of the fishy sailor is this:
They have not a thing to lose but their ships!

Though the concept at first may seem a bit dense
Having fish in their boats makes a whole lot of sense
Celest may not be the best in defense
But their performance at sea is no less than intense!

FIN!
