9.1.9.1 PRESTIGE AND INFLUENCE

(For Library and Stage Prestige contest information, see HELP CULTURE)

Prestige is used to determine how likely a denizen is to resist an influence attempt. The more prestige you have, the less likely it is the denizen will resist an attack entirely (except in the case of charity, where it's the opposite). Your prestige can be seen in STATUS.

The ranks of prestige are as follows from least to most prestigious:

1. like a naked fool
2. destitute
3. beggarly
4. pathetic
5. shabby
6. tawdry
7. nondescript
8. common
9. well-to-do
10. prosperous
11. opulent
12. posh
13. affluent
14. luxurious
15. like royalty

Clothing, jewellery, and some other items you can wear will make you look more or less prestigious. The FabricAppraisal ability in Discernment will allow you to see how prestigious a piece of attire is.

An item could have a positive, neutral, or negative impact. The ranks of prestige an item bestows are as follows, from most to least prestigious:

Neutral Effect
