Light's Heroes by Brenon

Merit for August 2005

With all inside, here's hoping
that it all goes well.

Outside the cold winter beats
upon my heart so hard. If this life
means more than it has, show me.

Is what I see enough for me, or greed
overpower greater sense.
To reach for more so wrong, or simply
what the lack tells me.

The Light is my home inside
When I am dying on the ice,
When I struggle against the tide,
Stars above only know,
When there's no hope left outside,
We'd be lost with it.

Shall we stay inside these stone cold walls,
With the Star alone to protect us?
Or shall we go forth
With Methrenton's host,
To banish the Darkness back to its
corners, to hide forevermore?

And to those who stood,
all alone, for doing what is right,
Who fight alone against the night,
You are the ones truly blessed.
Those who, on their own, fight,
They are the heroes of the Light.
