17.18 GREAT HUNT
When a Great Hunt is organised, it is a challenge for all hunters of the Basin of Life. During the Great Hunt, you will earn double experience for all the denizens and monsters you influence or slay. Aetherbeasts do not count in the Great Hunt but during it, hunting them will also reward double experience. Doing so will also earn you points in the contest. The number of points ranges from 1-10 depending on the level of the denizen. You can gauge how many points your target is worth by using CONSIDER <target>. Use the GREATHUNT SCORE command to see your score, tier, and the top 10 players in each tier. The Great Hunt is split into two tiers: o Demigod+ Tier o Level 1-99 Tier You will remain in the tier you started in rather than move out of it should you level out of your tier's bracket. Rewards ------- The Great Hunt comes with many credit rewards. Notably, at the end you will receive bound credits for whichever threshold you ended up crossing: - 10 at 100 points - 20 at 1000 points - 30 at 2500 points - 50 at 5000 points In addition, the top 10 hunters in each tier will receive additional rewards upon completion of the Great Hunt: 1st place: 500 credits 2nd place: 450 credits 3rd place: 400 credits 4th place: 350 credits 5th place: 300 credits 6th place: 250 credits 7th place: 200 credits 8th place: 150 credits 9th place: 125 credits 10th place: 100 credits Beginnings and Endings ---------------------- Great Hunts are usually scheduled in advance and if a schedule is set you will be able to see it by entering the command GREATHUNT. While a Great Hunt is underway, you will also be able to see time left till the end with the same command. Great Hunts generally begin and end at the weave (midnight GMT). That means that a Great Hunt scheduled for the 11th begins, for anyone in a different timezone, still on the 10th. Similarly, if it is scheduled to end on a 13th, that means for many it ends during the 12th. The GREATHUNT command shows a countdown in real-life time, not game-time, to help keep track. Leaderboards ------------ Great Hunt victories are tracked across all the hunts upon the leaderboards which you can see with GREATHUNT LEADERBOARD. All hunters share the same leaderboard, regardless of level. Everyone who places during a Great Hunt gains points for the leaderboard - between 20-11 points for scoring in the demigod tier, and between 10-1 points for the non-demigod tier.
