Covid-19 Update

We wanted to give you all an update on how the Lusternia team is doing amidst the Covid-19 crisis.

It is hugely important to us not only to offer all of you somewhere to be during this time, but to do everything we can to care for our own team. We are witnessing many other companies fail to care adequately for their staff, and this is something we consider unacceptable. Lusternia is what it is because of the incredible people we have here, be they player or volunteer staff or producer. We also believe it is important to be transparent about these measures, so that you know for certain that we are treating our people well.

All of our team, much like all of you, are affected in different ways by the measures put in place to get us through this pandemic. Many of us have been forced to work from home; some are key workers still going into workplaces; some are forced to not only do this but also care for children and the vulnerable. There is no two ways about this: right now, it is incredibly hard. No two days are the same, and sometimes it really can be just too much to even log in.

We are doing two main things to support our volunteers through this time, and continue to review things regularly to ensure there is nothing more we need to be doing. Firstly, we are keeping in touch with all of them, checking in and making sure that they are okay – not as colleagues, but as friends. Just like we’ve seen all of you doing, we are supporting each other as much as we can.

Secondly, we are letting them take whatever time they need away from Lusternia. This may mean that you do not see some Patron(s) as much as you would like. We’re sorry for this, as we know Divine interaction is a huge part of Lusternia. But we’re all people up here, and we’re all dealing with the myriad of traumas and problems that this situation has created. We promise we’re looking after all of them, and if they vanish for a time, you don’t need to worry. When Divine roles go fully inactive, we will do everything we can to make this clear in-game.

Those handling things administrative – which includes issues, designs, library books, artifact requests, support emails and more – are doing their best to stay up to date with everything. However, our response times in these areas has been and will continue to be slower than we would like. We are grateful for how patient you have all been thus far, and will continue to get back to you on things as fast as we are able. If it has been a couple of weeks and you’ve not heard something, please do email us at support@lusternia.com.

Thank you all for all of your support, and to our Iron Realms family for being just as wonderful. This is a horrible time that feels unbearable at points, but it is made so much more tolerable by how wonderful our community is.
