Ascension Events & Much More

Challenge of Chaos

In the aftermath of Mahaadi’s invasion of Faethorn and a civil war  between Goldenclaw and Dawnburst, the Basin of Life found itself pressed against the knife’s edge of Kethuru’s destructive power. Indeed, the  Seals of Knowledge, Chaos and War had cracked, and it was time for the  Trials of Ascension once more. Avechna, the Avenger revealed Himself to  the First World and explained the tasks ahead, beginning, of course,  with the Trial of Chaos.

All over clamoured the tiny feet of hamsters, but the one most-prized as the Purple Hamster of Chaos that switched hands time and time again. In  the first moments of the Trial, Ciaran Pavok of Hallifax claimed the  embodiment of Chaos; however, he was slain and such a treasure passed to the hands of Xenthos An’Ryshe. Then it went from Lerad, to Taevyn, to  Lysistrata, to Malarious and Ixion. The inhabitants of the First World  laid their fortresses within Vesucia Island and Spectre Isle. However,  unbeknowst to all, the Hamster travelled to the Czigany Wayfaire – a  momentary detour before it was claimed once more by Kalas Ixion. As the  Trial grew late, more hands took hold of the Hamster, before being  switched between Arimisia, Taevyn and Gero within its last moments. But  at the last minute, Taevyn Ladyn of New Celest captured the rodent at  the Liran road, proving that he was the Champion of Chaos!  Congratulations, Taevyn Ladyn of Celest, Sealbearer of Chaos!

Challenge of Harmony

Still reeling from the battle over the Purple Hamster and the Medallion  of Chaos, the mortals of the Basin of Life quickly prepared themselves  for the next challenge, the Challenge of Harmony! With their words  sharp, and their tongues sharper, many took to the challenge, but it was Arimisia D’Cente of Magnagora who was able to first secure the lead.

Arimisia held onto her advantage for some time until a force from the  north shut her up, and Romaan of Celest put a hamper on her gains.  Seeing an opportunity open before him, Mayor Steingrim of Gaudiguch  seized the chance to slide ahead, aided by former Sealbearer of Harmony, Talan Ysav’rai. Steingrim and Arimisia were neck and neck for much of the Challenge, but in the end, it was Steingrim who would come ahead! Congratulations, Mayor Steingrim of Gaudiguch, Sealbearer of Harmony!

Challenge of Nature

The Challenge of Nature was a daunting, testing its contenders to their limits. An amberlight blossom was bestowed upon the challengers in the hopes they would bring the Sun’s gentle rays back to the Basin, rather than the harsh, scorching light that has ravaged it in previous years. Captured within were the voices of the Sisterhood of Morningsong, their leader Delphyne whispering of her designs for the land beyond.

Talan Ysav’rai of Gaudiguch started out strong and put a cloud of dust between her and her competition. For the longest time she was in the lead, with Aramel Shevat and Yarith Shevat far behind. Slowly others  began to gain on them and then on Talan herself. It was Kalas Ixion who  finally managed to overtake her and from thereon it was smooth sailing  for him. Ixion was victorious and received his Medallion of Nature at  the Seal of Nature. Congratulations Kalas Ixion of Magnagora, Sealbearer of Nature!

Challenge of Knowledge

Not too long after the Basin of Life was imbued with the gentle glow of amberlight blossoms, the Trial of Knowledge had begun! A quiz of great challenge – Avechna, the Avenger tested the mortals of the First World to recall even the most insignificant details about Lusternia’s history, realm, and quests.

Falmiis Shevat of Hallifax seemed well-equipped to solve the test early on, and his lead remained even against his closest competition of Kalaneya of Glmodoring. Indeed, the two were the only ones whose scores broke above 20 points. However, in the end, Falmiis emerged victorious: answering several of the most brutal questions that have been devised. As such, he was awarded the Medallion of Knowledge. Congratulations Falmiis Shevat of Hallifax, Sealbearer of Knowledge!

Conquering the Mountain

After an amusing transmission sent by Perriwinkle Sweetpease, the communes of the Basin of Life reconvened the next month, in late Avechary. Butter’s husband was ready: the Song of Ail’Fae Runia was to be sung. And thus, the ingredients were sought – not, of course, after worries were abated that the Rite of hai’Gloh Zemordia would be accidentally performed. It was not, and in the end, a little fae girl stood as the Rosebearer – hoping to banish the Solar Queen once and for all.  Read more!

The Path to Amberni

As the Song of Ail’Fae Runia rang throughout the Basin of Life, strengthened in some part by the higher vibrational hum of the Elemental Planes, the Solar Queen was overwhelmed. The skies of Faethorn glowed a gentle amber and twisted under the weight of ethereal magic; as if called into being by this situation, a column of golden light erupted around the Queen’s Tree. A fiery lash struck at the skies, and the Queen exhaled smoke and ash. Though free, events led to the Tree of Trees, and within the branches was discovered Amberni, plagued by the solar fae.
