16.1.2 PRIVATE LIBRARIES

An artisan may be commissioned to build a bookshelf, at which time a private library is formed. A private library may hold up to 50 books and be organized by subject, similar to that of the Great Libraries. However, Private libraries do not charge fees, nor can they order extra copies. The checkout time of private libraries is always set at one Lusternian day. There are three types of private libraries:

o Private Guild Library
  - The Guild Administrator acts as the head librarian.
  - Archivists act as assistant librarians.
  - Can only be constructed within the guildhall.

o Private Order Library
  - The Order Steward acts as the head librarian.
  - Chroniclers act as assistant librarians.
  - Can only be constructed upon temple grounds.

o Private Manse Library
  - The owner of the manse acts as the librarian.
  - Can only be constructed within the manse.

Everyone has public level access to private libraries, provided that they can access the room where the bookshelf is kept. Restricted and secret access can be issued as normal.
