Of Light and Nature

Greetings to Lord Amaru and the populace,
A response to Lord Amaru La'Saet's posting.
First, I am a follower of Nature and Mother Moon. While She who whispers
to me in my studies, prayers and meditations may not coincide with what
others within Serenwilde may hear, this is of small consequence. All
must find their path within Mother Moon's moonlit grace. I walk my path
under her benevolent gaze, and others may find theirs as they will.
The definiton of the Light is interesting and helpful and as you are,
and have been for many years, a follower of that ideology, while I walk
in basic ignornance of such except in the most general of ways, I thank
you for the information.
But you have made some statements and asumptions on certain things that
could be misleading to those who only possess general knowledge of
Nature, as was my knowledge of the Light.
From your post: It (Light) loves life,....
Reply: While it may be true that the Light loves life that which I and
others of the Serenwilde follow, Nature, -is- Life. I can say
unequivocably and without hesitation that without Nature Lusternia would
be a dustbowl of nothing. There would certainly not be 'life' of any
consequence here, i.e., trees, grass, herbs, birds, animals, including
the mortal races, whether of ocean or land. And that is what almost came
about at one time. Dustbowl. No life of any consequence.
From the Histories of "The Aftermath of the Divine Wars".
"Nature held its own fragile consciousness, but it was fragmented and
dying, having been devastated by the divine wars. Further, those
Soulless Gods who were trapped within the earth itself were poisoning
these spirits of nature."
This then is what Lusternia faced. Not only almost total devastation
from a physical standpoint, due to the accumalative destruction of the
Elder Divine and Vernal Divine wars, but Nature's spirits and
consciousness wounded to the point of dying. Slowly but surely 'life'
was draining from the world as Nature slowly died.
Never forget, as is the wont of those of the cities, that it was the
three communes of Lusternia, Serenwilde, Ackleberry and Gloriana and
their nexi, who gave the mortals of the world the opportunity to live,
grow and rebuild.
It was the communes and the followers of Nature who provided the
opportunity for there to -be- cities for without the communes and the
followers of Nature I dare say we would not be having this discussion.
It was the opportunity to -live- that the followers of Nature gave to
those of the Basin... and with that gift also came the opportunity for
there to be a Landantine to bring ruin and misery into the world.
From your post: (Light)...can be summarised as striving for constant
perfection and improvement, or seeking that which is eternal and
infinite. It is unlike the ways of the forests, which are attached to
conserving the status quo...
Reply: I am ceaselessly amused that those of the cities have this
strange concept that Nature is a stagnant unchanging force. That your
wife has not disabused you of this notion is surprizing.
There are but two Truths, Lord Amaru.
The first Truth is: Change, for without Change there is Entrophy and
nothing.
The Second Truth is: Consciousness is a given. Otherwise we are not.
There are no others, Lord Amaru.
These Truths hold for all mortals. It matters little where your
loyalties lie, city, commune or rogue.
The first part of your statement is exactly the process that Nature has
been going through for millenium from the dawn of time. It is Nature
that gave rise to the mortal races of Lusternia in it's "endless search"
for perfection and improvement.
To declare that Nature, and by inference those who follow Nature, is
unchanging is to be blind to that around you.
How can you look on the vastness, complexity and sheer wonder of the
Inner Sea and nonchalantly declare that the followers of Nature are
"attached to the status quo".
Nature is ever changing and will -be- ever changing forever. When the
great piles of stone that mortals call "cities" are reduced to the
finest dust and blown in the winds of Lusternia from end to end of the
world till not one grain lies where it first lay, even then will Nature
be striving to improve, still striving for perfection...and those who
follow Nature can do no less, for to do less is to deny what we follow.
Blessed Be,
