Serenwilde is the aggressor in this war.

The intention of this post is to explain, especially those members of
Serenwilde who have been kept in the dark, the history and reasoning
behind the current political situation.
Firstly, I will explain the importance of Celestia and angelkind.
Celestia is the Holy Realm of Celest; we view it as perfect physically,
for its beauty and symmetry; spiritually, for its angelic composition;
and ideologically, because it is the home of the Supernals, whose
teachings we abide by.
The Light is a complex entity, and difficult to explain to those who
have not been touched by it, much as it would be impossible to explain
'sorrow' or 'love' to those who have not experienced it. It is a
physical substance, an essence, which is best described by a visit to
Celestia. Physically, it is healing, renewing, illuminating and
perfecting. It loves life, and as with the exquisite gardens of Raziela,
causes life to flourish and become more vital and beautiful.
This physical aspect of the Light is the very substance which binds
Celestia together. It exists within all beings of Light, flowing through
the veins of angels and followers of the Supernals, who actively seek it
and welcome it into them. Its pinnacle is Elohora, whose brilliance is
visible to the mortal eye as a blinding whiteness; pure Light itself.
But the Light is also an ideology, and a way of life. Each Supernal
represents an aspect of this philosophy, and as Elohora is the physical
Light incarnate, she is also the culmination of each aspect of the
Light's teachings, being at once wise, compassionate and valiant.
The Light, in both its physical and its ideological spheres, can be
summarised as striving for constant perfection and improvement, or
seeking that which is eternal and infinite. It is unlike the ways of the
forests, which are attached to conserving the status quo; and unlike the
taint, which entails dangerous and chaotic change, without order or
reason.
Now, you should have a clearer picture of our attachment to the Light,
and its nature. It is our way of life and our sole purpose. It
physically exists within us, giving us life, hope and direction, and
thus we are attached to Celestia, as it is the source and origin of the
Light.
Then perhaps, you can understand our emotions when it is attacked. This
brings me to my second point, which concerns the Seren-Celest war.
When Ixion and Athana left Magnagora to join Serenwilde, their attacks
upon the Holy Realm increased in volume and frequency. I have spoken to
many members of Serenwilde about the war, and most seem to have been
misled by their own leaders.
Attacks upon Celestian citizens in neutral ground, for neutral reasons,
are considered to be the actions of individuals. Attacks upon Celestian
citizens in neutral ground, for political reasons, are also considered
to be the actions of individuals. Celest would deal with the individual,
in each instance.
Attacks upon Celestian citizens in Celestian ground, for political
reasons, are treated justly and rightly as acts of war upon Celest. What
does Serenwilde expect? Perhaps the government of Serenwilde did not
explicitly command these attacks, but they were permitted. How many
members of Serenwilde can attack Celest, with the permission of their
government, before Serenwilde will accept that the hostile actions of
the individuals against Celestian territory is the responsibility of the
commune? Two? Twenty?
Celest did not want war with Serenwilde. We do not permit our citizens
to instigate war with other organisations, by attacking their territory,
unless the city itself is behind their actions. We did not permit the
killing of fae, the conversion of fae, nor the raiding of Serenwilde by
our members. Those who broke the rules were punished, not rewarded, by
our authorities. We elected a Prince who publicly favoured peace with
Serenwilde, and then deposed him when he chose to renege on his
commitment. From whichever angle you look at it, Celest as a whole
wanted peace.
We approached you twice, seeking negotiations with Nejii and with your
government in order to resolve the conflict. The first attempt was
accepted and then any peace agreement rejected. The second was dismissed
altogether. The Serenwilde government did not even inform the other
members of the commune, who were left entirely in the dark, so that
Nejii could claim that no diplomatic solution was attempted and thus
gain the false support of his people.
Attacks upon Celestian angels, who are revered for their closeness to
the Light, evoke an emotional and furious response from our citizens. It
is as if you had sanctioned your members to not only mount a raid upon
our city, but defile all our temples and all that we hold sacred. Yet
this was defended in the name of 'freedom' and 'rights'.
Celest does not recognise the freedom or right for any being to murder
angelkind or attack Celestian soil.
With heavy hearts and much discussion, we drafted the ultimatum and made
it public, because we were aware that our previous attempts at
negotiation were not revealed to the majority of Serenwilde. All we
asked for was mutual peace. We had no other choice, since while our
negotiation attempts were being ignored, our angels were continually
being killed by Ixion and Athana, and condoned by Nejii. Just as your
government should be accountable to you, the commune members, you must
be accountable for the decisions of your elected government.
Thus: war. What alternative did we have? Killing the individuals
responsible was no deterrant; it only encouraged them. Our own citizens
were dying in defence of their beliefs and their brethren.
Despite Magnagora's sly support of Serenwilde during the war, which led
many to believe that Ixion and Athana were merely planted by Magnagora
as spies to provoke the war in the first instance, Celest will triumph.
We will triumph because we stand by eternal principles of justice, which
are not subject to the whims of politicians. Serenwilde's own members
recognise this: that is why many have either left or are refusing to
assist in the war. These are good people, with consciences, who see that
Celest's strength is in its resolve, because each of us knows that we
are fighting a war in defence of our people and ideals, against those
who are fighting for the sake of their own hubris and refusal to admit
their mistakes.
To Serenwilde: it is not too late to stand up to your leaders and demand
peace for everyone's benefit.
I hope you do, before we all tire of the bloodshed.
In Faith,
Amaru La'Saet.
