Public News Post #259

My great undertaking

Greetings all,

Today I come to you with an idea, a vision. This is an idea that is
starting to come to pass already, and many of you have talked to be
about supporting it. I've even taken a few moments to put my maces down,
and do something constructive.

Pardon the pun.

Recently, I've had the chance to shape an aether manse to my and my
friends' liking. It grows larger by the day, and I hope to craft a few
new places soon. The manse is open to the public, for the moment, and
one can see that I've started work on a tradehall, my family's quarters,
and I've even stepped out from the great temple there, and gazed upon
the wonders of Deepnight.

This is a place perpetually bathed in moonlight... Not a dirty, nasty
darkness feeling, but of calm serenity, and peace of mind. And I can
tell you all, the plans for this are large. Should any be interested,
there are ways that this can be beneficial to you, and fun for all of
us. Should you be uninterested, and have no vision, this post likely is
not for you...

Several people have contacted me about my manse, and I'll share some of
those issues here. I've mentioned people being able to live in it, and
indeed, that is just what I had planned. A sort of aether community,
where anyone can live, free of the violence of the planes. No fighting
will be tolerated, as people from different walks of life are going to
reside there.

For the Serenwilders who are asking, it won't quite be a city... A
community, much unlike anything presented by Celest or Magnagora. For
the city folk, this isn't quite a commune either. There will be various
structures, but I envision large gardens, and areas where one feels like
they are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but the air
about them.

Also, the question has been raised if I plan to outdo some of the
cities, or Serenwilde. No. I do not intend this to have a bank, nexus,
or any of the things that are associated with the places to live now.
This would be more like a second home, save for rogues who wish to make
it primary.

We are also looking into linking a small area to another's manse, via
paitings or aethergates, for those that have already bought an orb or
started to create thier own domains.

Now, for the main point of the post...

There are three ways one might insert themselves into this project.

1. Be in the Merchant's Guild. Our members are growing all the time, and
if you are a transed merchant, contact myself. This clan should be
getting a tradehall in deepnight, with its own equipment, and a store.
Note that this is only for mature and experienced merchants.

2. Be a Carthan. This, of course, is a bit harder than the other two
things. However, since I do not know what has become of my family, or
even if I ever had one, induction into the family and clan is by
adoption. The Carthans will have thier own quarters in Deepnight.

3. Lastly, the easiest thing to do. This may appeal to some, and not to
others, but I've gotten a positive response in general. The persons who
have expressed interest in the community, and who have donated gold, now
belong to a group that will be able to access the entire area. These
"Advocates of Deepnight", as they've been called, have donated a sum of
money, or will in the future, and have helped me out a bit. Also, some
expressed interest in thier own, personal rooms. I have decided that the
cost of a room in my manse is 140,000 gold, cheaper than you can get
anywhere, even from Bob. I'm willing to pitch in 10,000 gold to anyone
for a private room, just so I can see the community grow, and attract
more people. This also saves quite a bit of gold, as an orb to start a
manse costs 350,000. My deal saves 200,000 gold, and 10,000 per room.
For private rooms, you may have whatever you want in them, and set
whatever permissions you wish. I do not intend to fiddle with any of
these, as it is your gold, and not my place to disturb that. Some people
may want one room to themselves, which we can perhaps link to an
existing manse, and some people may want to play a greater part in the
community, and have several rooms.

I want to see this place grow, and I'm willing to save you a bit of
money to do so. Deepnight is open to the public for now, and can be
visited at any time.

Anyone who is interested in The Merchant's Guild, the Carthans, or the
aether community of Deepnight, is free to contact me.

Donate, and secure a place for yourself here. Do that, and put your
heart into it, and you'll secure yourself a place in history.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Dvarsh, in the year 108 CE.
