Another argument on Nature?

Spare us the rambling, Kalodan. I smell the scent of honeycakes being
baked. Shoo shoo!

Here's an interesting thought.. Does not Serenwilde harvest Nature's
bounty for its own good? Lumber for construction, wares, weapons, and
whatnot? I believe so. Wood, gems, metals, stones.. How about all the
stone and metal used to build jewelry, statues, constructs, and other
items? Yes, even gold coins, a form of currency highly used in cities,
are made of metal. Does a commune replace it? No, and neither does a
city.
All a commune can manage to replace are trees, which, ironically, they
have a sole control over... since they so obviously refuse to enlighten
the rest of the Basin on such abilities unless the masses agree to
conform to their beliefs and ways of life- yet more irony. Oh, and
here's something else: commune citizens shop in cities.
So really, are cities truly the ones to fault for taking from Nature,
when Nature's resources existed before any life, beside Divine, did.. at
least according to widely accepted history. I believe, that if one group
is to be accused, all should be.

Speaking of forcing wildlife out of their homes to build a city... If a
forest commune was allowed to continue growing, would it not force a
change in the surrounding environs? Would the life in Verasavir Valley
continue to live, would it have to migrate elsewhere, or would it die
off? What of Oleanvir? The Toronada Flats? Should the entire Basin be a
complete forest? No, that would be silly and a true perversion of
Nature.

Nature is everywhere.. the water, air, earth, fire.. rivers, mountains,
grasslands, swamps.. trees, cacti, wildlife.. life and death. All that
was originally created to be the Basin is Natural... the Taint is not.
It is the foreign element that does not belong. However, it is here to
stay, and the best action to take is confinement.. never allow it to
spread beyond its home in the Basin- Magnagora.
We've all seen what the Taint does to Nature. Remember when the Blasted
Lands started to purify because the Taint was being drained out of
them.. remember the flowers? Now where are they? My point exactly.. the
Taint destroys Nature.

While on the topic of Nature.. I'd like to point out that Nature can
even be observed on the plane of Water. Swim in the Mystic River and
you, too, will see just how natural the plane of Water is. And yet, it
is no differently drawn from by the Aquamancers than Ethereal is drawn
upon by the Druids. Interesting, isn't it? It does make me wonder
whether or not all planes, unless manipulated beyond their original
forms, are Natural.

In essence, there really is little difference between a commune and city
besides the way they choose to live their lives. If there was
difference, then why do the communes allow the villages under their
control to grow like cities, but much much smaller in scale? I would
think they would be converted to commune-like equivalents, and yet they
are not. Their buildings are made of stone and wood.
They cut rock, harvest lumber and plants, slaughter animals, and perform
several of the same actions that a city does. Wouldn't it be immoral for
a commune to allow a village it has influence over to continue
practicing such supposedly wrong doings to Nature, the same actions that
cities are being accused of? I suppose it depends on who benefits from
the actions... which could be called greed.

Oh.. and the supposedly undead "mockeries" in Glomdoring are no more
unnatural than a Seren Ecologist slaying a defenseless rabbit only to
rebirth it into the form of a badger for their personal benefit. Both
creatures can be slain again.. both should have died but were brought
back to life.

There really is no point in arguing over this ever again for obvious
reasons. It would save the Basin a world of grief if everyone was to
just drop it and go about their merry ways whether they be enclosed
within walls of stone, elevated by trees, or burried within the earth.

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Dvarsh, in the year 174 CE.
