The Basin

Greetings fellow inhabitants of the Basin,
It's come to my attention that a large number of fellow dwellers within
the Basin have had some...issues, regarding one another. At this rate,
Serenwilde and Celest. Let me shed abit of personal insight and some
Light on this subject.
I've been with New Celest for many a years, and very very few remember
my brief timeframe within the Serenwilde Forest. I find this rather
intriguing, because I must say, I was the only "commune member" that
carried the power of Light with me when I stayed there. I did not
forsake my teachings of the Light, purely because I believed that the
Light wasn't just something that was there or an ideal, but something
that I could shed amongst those within the Basin. I believed that the
teachings I learned, I could spread amongst those that needed hope, to
fight off the Taint that held alot back, the fear that it brought, and
the problems that strangled many. My belief, my hope, my learnings,
found myself powerless amongst my second home. Even to this day, with a
war that past during my sleep, I still feel at home with the forest.
My point, is that I've seen many proclaim that the city is "unnatural"
and "alien". Tell me, is it not the stone that holds the city together
not from nature? Is it not the mortar that holds the stone from nature
as well? Would the views of a city be the same if said city was held
together with sticks and mud? The stone, whether it be carved from
mountains or created from moulds, still is created by means of having a
nature background. The mortar, used to hold the blocks of stone to
create such a massive city, still needs water so it can hold together
and harden to hold together the city. This same water that gives life to
us all. All that is different, from a City and a Commune, is by the
means of which we create our domain.
We thrive differently, city and commune folk, yet we all find that we
have the same thing in mind. We find ways to live, to progress our
lives. Whether it's by being a forger, tailor, jeweler, herbalist,
alchemist, and so on. Yet, due to our "living conditions" we are,
whether the background, considered "savages" or "barbarians to nature".
We bleed the same, think in similar ways, and we all understand what we
must do to live. Yet, commune members tend to shy away from cities,
saying we are "unnatural" because we choose to live upon stone, and
shelter ourselves with roofs. How are we different? You choose to live
within nature, to feel nature under your feet, the canopy of trees
sheltering you. Again, we live the same, just by different means.
So, I bear to you, where are we different? Are we that bad when we
choose to raise our city, bringing stable constructs to ourselves to
shelter our weary bodies? Do you feel that we do not care at all for
Nature when we do this? If this was the case, wouldn't you think that
we'd try to remove every tree from the Basin to try and "expand" our
venture of stone and mortar? This, I believe with a whole heart, is not
Celest's goal. You may believe that, but I do not. You live your life,
we live ours. Come time when we have a common enemy, I hope that you can
put aside your differences, and understand, that it's not a city or
commune, but how our hearts beat that determines our lives and our
paths.
