The Serenwilde

Dear Syntobis,

let me begin by saying you have my condolences, I know the horrible
experience of recognizing the home you have spilled your blood for as
the murderous briar patch it is.

Alas, I can only emphasize the words of good master Laysus, who granted
us yet another glimpse into the rationale of the powers that be of the
Serenwilde, and in particular the Moondancers.

Indeed, as you can see from Suhnaye's post, the Serenwilde is not
unfamiliar with alienating those it considers a voice of discord. As
Laysus points out, the Serenwilde is not all sugar and spice, in fact,
far from it.

As I'm sure you will find once you have seen it from an outsider's
perspective for a while, being a member of the Serenwilde is in many
ways comparable to sitting in a briar of roses. Its blossoms are most
marvelous to behold, yet one must remember to never leave one's alotted
space, for there are still the briars around you, and they will cut deep
indeed if you move out of line.

In less metaphorical terms, what I am trying to convey is this - the
Serenwilde may be fair enough and quite pleasant to live in. (As you can
see, the longing to return rings deep in Suhnaye, who has been bereft of
his membership for what must seem to him like a long while.) As long as
you stay sharp within the limits laid out by the doctrine of
Serenwilde's Great Spirits, or rather, the laws your former leadership
issues on ground of these, you may quite well enjoy your time. However,
I must warn you and all of similar desire to truely speak their minds
within the commune - do not do it.

Opinions that differ are not wanted in the Serenwilde, as the lies told
by their guiding powers are feeble indeed and to think out of line would
quickly bring realization of the shortcomings of their ways. As good man
Laysus points out: Generalisations are unfortunate, but necessary, for
to see and judge those of differing faith as individuals would
inevitably send you astray from the doctrined path of hatred and fear
laid down as the only safe route through the brambles guarding your
roses.

Again, do not make the mistake of questioning your beliefs. The Great
Spirits of the Serenwilde have answers to any question you may have,
heed them and let them guide your path. Musings of your own will bring
nothing but misery, ever more so if voiced aloud in too large an
audience.

As for the fae, let me assure you, their will is of no consequence. They
are fickle spirits of ever-changing ways, not even in posession of
physical form if not for good Glinshari all those years ago. If they
tell you they wish to visit Mother Night, it is your duty to save them,
do not be misguided by their words or those of the Queen of the Fae.
Mother Moon knows best, and you have just now met the consequences of
those transgressing from Her will. Those who disagree are resented,
those who resist to cave in shouted down, those who fail to return to
the moonlit path will be torn to shreds. Do not subject the fae to the
terror that is the jealous wrath of the moon by forcing your fellow
Serenwilders to slay the fae unfortunate enough to mis-step into the
Glomdoring.

Again, Syntobis, I feel your misery, best wishes on whatever path lies
ahead of you.

Oh yes and, as a parting comment - I have been very interested to learn
that you have taken to stealing from my fellow citizens, Narsrim. I am
told you have lost posession of your prized gem and have decided to
share the experience.
Well gone indeed seem the days of elder Merloch and his belief that the
Moondancers are above the thuggery of theft, alas. Although, master of
the vines and thorns of the rose as you are, I am sure you will find
ways to bend the briars of Serenwilde to suit your ends. Follow his
lead, children of the Serenwilde.

- Lomdomian, protector of the fae, once Moondancer.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Dioni, in the year 145 CE.
