Syntobis,
Decades ago, I made a rather similar public post to the one you just
made. I saw what I considered flaws in Serenwilde, wanted to fix them,
but found that none in Serenwilde but me saw them as flaws, or those
others who did, did not want to speak up with me. As such, I left. I
still see problems... But most are not things Serenwilde or its people
can fix without the world changeing to help them along and allow them to
survive the changes... I think most of the descisions made by Serenwilde
these days are as correct as they could be, and to argue against them
publicly simply sows dissention and discontent... If you do not agree
with something and feel you must argue against it, do so with an elder
who is willing to hear you, and do not give into so much pride that you
cannot change if you must.
Now, let me tell you something that took me decades to learn. No matter
what, a home is worth the effort to get along with those within it. I'm
still me, when I hear or see something that doesn't sit right with me, a
large part of me screams to argue against it with everything I've got.
And there are times I can't help but speak up. But now days, I usually
get such impulses in check before they cause too much trouble. I love
the forests of this land. I find them all worth understanding and
cherishing... And to be able to call one of them my home, especially one
as beautifull as Serenwilde, is worth the effort of holding my natural
inclinations under tight reign. I'll still hope to see my home become
greater in its own right than it is now. Some day it may truely be able
to hold to the ideals you seem to have about it. Who's to know. But for
ideals such as those to come to fruition would require the world to be a
considerably different place. So, in short, debating is good, argueing
for the sake of argueing, or untill your opponent is furious with you...
Is not... Its a tough line to see, but you seem one who needs to learn
where it is.
I am saddened to hear that you were removed from Serenwilde... And that
Kali was forced to leave. I wish it were not so. I honestly do not know
the complete story, so I cannot say for certain whether your removal was
warranted or not. If it was warranted, which by Serenwilde rules and
laws and by Laysus' previous post I think it probably was in some form,
I would hope you would see the error, and at least appologize for what
you did, even if your pride screams against it, sometimes it is best to
appologize for a mistake against a culture you do not agree with and
find peace with them, rather than allow friction to form between you.
Likely sticking his nose in another tree it doesn't belong,
