Public News Post #452

Presumption

I find it quite interesting that a self-proclaimed enemy of the Taint
and all of its proponents should consider himself such an authority on
the very forces he hates - or should I say fears, Narsrim? For that is
the very emotion that resonates within your ignorant post - fear. Fear
of the unknown and the powerful, fear of the forces we wield, fear of
that strength which your own small-mindedness has denied you. This fear
shows through in every single word you have written, and I thank you for
so openly displaying it for all the Basin to see.

The Heresiarch is indeed a high-ranking Nihilist - not to put too fine a
point on it, he is the HIGHEST-ranking Nihilist, and was elected to that
position in part because of his knowledge of the affairs upon which you
so eloquently speak. Therefore the presumption after which I have titled
this post is yours - presuming to correct the leader of the Nihilists
about the Taint, presuming to lecture the Tainted about their own way of
life, and presuming to be intimately familiar with the affairs of - and
motivations of - the Elder Gods. I would say that of the two of us, I
have more recently been in communication with Lord Gorgulu, and while of
COURSE I would not wish to correct your superior knowledge, when I spoke
to him he was as strong in his support of the Taint and its inevitable
spread as ever before. I would not bother to lecture you on the motives
and emotional state of "Lady Elohora", in part because, frankly, I
couldn't care less - I'll thank you kindly if you'd extend the same
courtesy to those who actually follow Lord Gorgulu.

As for your attack on Lord Raezon and his quest for self-empowerment,
again, you show your ignorance of what is truly important. You villify
Him for desiring power just as you do the Nihilists, and in doing so you
fail to improve yourself, fail to live up to the potential for power
that the path of the Nihilist embraces and amplifies. You fear the
Nihilists, because we tamper with forces you do not understand. You fear
Lord Raezon, because He pursues power in ways unavailable to you. You
fear the Taint, because it seeks to change things from the way they
exist in the comfortable stagnation of your mind; because it seeks to
make a world in which something higher than you will be the pinnacle of
evolution. For you to imply that the Taint is a parasitic blight that
infects the natural forms of all creatures is nothing other than a
reflection of your own overwhelming fear.

Thank you for proving my point before I even had to.

Sincerely,
Ashar d'Valeros.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Estar, in the year 121 CE.
