You seem to have forgotten history in your haste to respond to Visaeris.
As one subjected to your oversight, allow me to help.

You and I agree that stopping the initial Taint was necessary, but you
have overlooked why that was. Up until the reverberations of Hallifax'
and Guadiguch's final meeting severed Kethuru's link to the Astral plane
and thus the Stone of Truth and all it touched, the Taint was a
manifestation of both Kethuru's power and his *will*. During that time,
anything that came in contact with the Taint became a tool of Kethuru's
will and very much a victim in that sense.

Once the link Emperor Ladantine VII opened for Kethuru was disrupted,
however, His will vanished from both the Taint and those
Tainted...though the power instilled within the Taint lingered. This is
what the Taint remains today, a source of power and an engine of change,
around which Magnagora has evolved and flourished.

Now, I don't blame you for hating Kethuru. We all understand that
Kethuru wants to destroy everything and everyone. What saddens me,
though, is that you still hate the Taint even with the reason to hate it
gone. Is this perhaps carrying over from when Emperor Ladantine VII
sacked Celest with an army of ur'Guard and Tainted beings? Oh, but wait,
Emperor Ladantine VII was never under Kethuru's will...he was the same
blindly ambitious Celestian that he ever was.

It simply never ceases to amaze me that with all Celest's past and
present 'humility and respect' as you state, Celest has still created
its own adversary in Magnagora -- by hating those who survived forced
dominance by Kethuru's will in the past, and hating those who thrive in
the legacy of the Taint in the present. Even so, it is the way of
Magnagora to turn adversity into triumph...so I thank you. Every good
blade needs a whetstone.
