Apologies Owed

It has come time for us to apologize to the Basin as a whole. We
apologize rarely, mostly because we are almost never wrong, but also
because we feel that every mistake is simply a chance to learn. To grow.
But sometimes, the price of our mistakes is too high, and we must admit
when we were wrong. To that end - we apologize, everyone, for ever
encouraging Jaye to become the Queen of Celest.

While we gave her entirely sound, and apparently effective advice and
encouragement, we now realize we were a fool to ever fall for her
'generally a good person' act. In hindsight, it was idiotic of us to
fall for her act. Always the victim. First our son is mean to
her...which we grant, may well have been true, he was no winner himself.
Then Celest was always picking on her for being bad at whatever ministry
she held at the time. Of course, without ever telling what her job role
was, or how to do it - she can bear no responsibility in her failings.
To the constant whining, and moping about every fight lost, or even if
she just happened to die too many times in fights we won. She put it all
on display, and somehow we missed. Probably because we're a shameless
horn-dog, without nearly enough blood to operate all our organs, and
gravity is not our ally.

Once again, we must stress that we do not speak for Gaudiguch as a
whole. We are Ixchilgal. We hold no city position, no guild position,
bearing only the title of avatar to a sleeping Elder that will likely
never wake again to hold us accountable.

Celest is meant to be a beacon of everything good. Mercy. Justice.
Honour. All traits they have never, not once, demonstrated.

We called them cowards, bullies, and hypcorites some years ago, for how
they choose to deal with one pathetic little man from Magnagora. But at
least then, in that case, they attacked their actual enemies, a person
who meant them harm, from a city that would swallow us all if given the
chance. And as if to prove our very point, when Gaudiguch denounced our
words and opened us up to retribution without consequence, who amongst
them came to put us in our place? Jaye took our head, but only after we
first encouraged her to do so, said there would be no hard feelings, and
that a demonstration must be made...and that it would look good for her
planned ascension to the throne. A fight we did not resist. Aside from
that, only Romaan stepped forth to defend the honour of his city. The
lone citizen in the entire city who demonstrated any backbone or
integrity. He failed to kill us, but he did not resort to dirty tricks,
he did not do it for political gain. He alone acted with any integrity.
He alone should be spared the condemnation in this post.

But Celest has moved from overreacting to idiot children and moved
straight into attempting a level of despotism that would make Fain
blush.

They claim to speak for all people of the basin now as they demand that
the Serenwilde join the Coalition. News to other members of the
Coalition, as at least some of us had no idea that we were attempting to
entice a fifth member. Or perhaps just a shuffling of the fourth, since
it's been told to us that Celest has indicated they'd intend to dump
Glomdoring to get Serenwildes cooperation. Of course, that cooperation
might be easier to get, if they didn't intermix demands for subjugation
with attacks on the forest. This, of course, under the guise of
Serenwilde being Magnagora's ally - a fact which was apparently news to
everyone involved.

It makes sense, in a way, attacking Serenwilde. After their failed
attempts to emotionally blackmail citizen of Gaudiguch into helping them
attack Magnagora, and realizing they don't have the juice to take on
their -actual- enemies, they must vent their frustrations on those who
are too asleep to retaliate. Very honourable. Very just. Merciful, even,
to attack a sleeping foe, so that it doesn't have to be distressed by
defending itself.

To the Supernals of Celestia, we offer you a home here in Gaudiguch
instead. You may not receive the wide spread adoration that you receive
from Celest, but at least the people in Gaudiguch who profess to follow
your ideals will actually do more than pay lip service to those ideals.
Your teachings will not be a cudgel to beat a neutral, and unconsious
forest into servitude.

To Serenwilde, we can offer you no more aide than words of
encouragement. Fight off the tyranny of the Light. We may be bound by
treaty to not help you, but you are no enemy of ours. You have never
stepped into Gaudiguch with hostile intent, and we will do all we can to
ensure that no citizen of Gaudiguch strikes the first blow. As we stated
earlier, our power is limited, but perhaps one person calling out these
cowards and bullies will be enough to at least make people think before
blindly following them. The people of Gaudiguch recognize your rights to
exile from your borders those who would harm you. We would not deign to
be your steward, which is just a polite way of saying 'overlord.'

To our allies, we would ask that you take a long hard look at actions,
not merely words. Celest talks a big game about their moral superiority,
but when have they ever demonstrated such? Even now they hold five of
eight aetherbubbles, and have stopped calling to alert people of such
events happening. Apparently, much to their own benefit.

To Magnagora, congratulations of having more honour and integrity than
the so called City of Light. You accomplished what nobody thought
possible - you aren't the biggest pile of trash in existence.

And finally to Celest - we are sure you'll whine and cry about what
we've said. You'll either push to end the alliance, or have us removed.
Perhaps demanding Gaudiguch evict us to remain, or just trying to
convince others to agree to remove the city without giving a chance for
such considerations. Perhaps you'll leave, yourself. Or maybe you'll
simply make some news post trying to save face, and call us a big meany
jerkface. We can't say what you will do, precisely, but we can say with
certainty what you won't do - anything that would refute the claims we
have made against you.

Just like the last time we called you out.
