In an ominous portent, the Basin of Life suddenly rumbled with volcanic
activity, fire shooting into the sky above the Razine Mountains and
black smoke blocking out the sun. Intrepid explorers quickly found a
fallen boulder was blocking part of the old Imperial Road near the lava
pools surrounding the lost city of Gaudiguch. Emboldened with curiosity,
many sought out the advice of the local dracnari in the village of
Dairuchi and the wandering nomad camp in the Skarch Desert.

In the nomad camp, Noth Iborchi and Charestu Thech greeted the visitors,
but quickly (and, perhaps, not-so-subtly) tried to persuade the
non-dracnari visitors to leave, wanting only to speak with the
"truebloods," going so far as to send Kalas Ixion on a wild chase for
buried treasure in the Balach Swamp. The odd pair of nomads berated the
other truebloods for not recognizing the "holy trail", and quickly sent
Simimi Rakona to scout out the problem. When Simimi returned, they
brainstormed a possible solution with Dysolis Heatherwood, Simimi
Rakona, and Hallen Mes'ard. The trio eventually came to the conclusion
that a sandojin would be likely to burrow under the blocked pass, and
they set off to capture one.

When the sandojin was eventually brought to the massive boulder, it
burrowed beneath and clawed away at it from the other side. The boulder
tumbled away, revealing the before unknown mountain pass leading to the
volcanic Mount Zoaka, the legendary birthplace of the dracnari.

What secrets lie waiting to be unearthed at Mount Zoaka, populated by
dracnari miners, beastmasters, fire mages, and even greater mysteries,
has yet to be fully seen.
