Nirrti's Song

A mysterious globe appeared in Glomdoring Forest, directly over the
Master Ravenwood Tree. Though the globe could not be moved, it seemed to
want something. Nirrti, the Talons of Crow in the Blacktalon Guild,
sensed the globe was somehow sentient and sympathetic to Glomdoring, and
Glomdoring in turn seemed to be sympathetic to it. Nirrti composed a
poem of startling beauty that encapsulated the soul of Glomdoring, and
when she sang it, the mysterious globe came alive. The globe imploded
into a small violet spark, which began to sing in turn, releasing a
sound of such power and majesty that the Drums of the Dead in Glomdoring
as well as every shadow in the land began dancing to its melancholy
music.

Lyreth revealed that this voice belonged to an Elder God named Mahalla,
who was one of the Keepers of the Great Song like Himself. This group of
Fourth Circle Elder Gods hid their voices within the land during the
Elder Wars to protect the Great Song from the Soulless Gods. Alas,
Mahalla was devoured by Almighty Kethuru and Her voice had no home to
which it could ever return.

Estarra asked Nirrti to be a caretaker to this Dead Voice, the Voice of
Mahalla. And thus was Nirrti the founder and guildmistress of the first
of the bards guilds in Lusternia.

Penned by My hand on the 8th of Estar, in the year 159 CE.
