A Tale of Two Goddesses

The goddess Viravain, Mistress of the Webs screamed in outrage as
ribbons of energy from the Seal of Justice drained Her form away. When
the brave adventurers of the Basin came to investigate, they discovered
that chambers with pillars for the law of city and commune alike had
been wrought from Avechna's Peak. This addition to the Cave of Justice
came at a dire cost, however. Viravain was contained within the seal,
perhaps gone forever.

While some immediately broke into celebration at the goddess' plight,
others refused to accept the situation as being irreversible. Roughly a
year later, Isune conducted a short experiment with a small number of
witnesses to ascertain solid proof of whether or not Viravain's soul had
been pulled into the seals along with Her essence. This experiment
proved a success, to the relative relief of Viravain's followers and
trepidation of Isune's supporters. About two months after the
experiment, Isune went forth with the attempt to bring Viravain back to
the prime material plane. Shikari, as well as many mortals from
Glomdoring and across the Basin, kept a close eye on the proceedings.

Things went smoothly up until the point Isune began to draw Viravain out
of the Seal of Justice, at which point a massive explosion of energy
rippled outwards from around Avechna's Peak. Shikari forcibly cut
Isune's tie to the seal to prevent Her from potentially being pulled and
losing control of the situation. Both god and goddess seemed a little
confused, wondering if Viravain had been released, and both briefly
swore, believing the attempt to be a failure.

Then, Viravain quite clearly spoke out to Shikari... from the mouth of
Isune. Yes, the body of Isune contained both her spirit and that of
Viravain.

After months of odd behavior, the result of two powerful Divine
inhabiting a single body, both Viravain and Isune traveled to the
Glomdoring. Conversing amongst themselves, they sat at the Master
Ravenwood tree and debated for some time, an unusual spectacle in
itself. Many cried out as the two finally came to the decision to work
together as they had before in times long past, perhaps in fear, or joy,
or at the very least, surprise.

That surprise only grew however, as the split between the two goddesses
grew only more apparent as the ritual began. Viravain cried out in joy,
Isune in increasing fear due to not knowing what should happen. Mother
Night herself appeared at the ancient tree, demanding to know what was
occurring, going so far as to lunge at the Goddesses who were
immediately shielded by Crow. Soon after learning what was to occur,
Mother Night begged the entirety of the Glomdoring to help, lest the
forest, and its spirits, be lost.

Reaching the pinnacle of excitement amidst the confusion was the arrival
of the Ebonglgom Wyrm, who had moved for the first time in ages so as to
reach the spectacle. The great wyrm began spinning thick tendrils of
webbing around itself, Mother Night, Brother Crow, the Ravenwood Tree,
and even the Goddesses sharing a single body, which grew engulfed them
all in a pulsating cocoon.

A hush fell over all assembled. All that was left was the great cocoon,
its swollen form wrapped amid the branches of the Great Ravenwood Tree.
As a sweet fragrance wafts through the dark woods of Glomdoring, members
of its commune whisper furtively amongst themselves, their fingers
stained with blood.
