In the month of Estar, 233 years after the Coming of Estarra, a young
loboshigaru visited the nexus of each city and commune. Tarel, the
treasure hunter sought volunteers from each organization for an
expedition into the Blasted Lands to seek his lost father, Tisot.
Seeking as much support as possible he didn't mention the other places
he had already been, and to the surprise of some there were volunteers
from all four organizations gathered at the edge of the Great Southern
Highway to meet Tarel and search for Tisot.

With tools in hand, the group split up and scoured the Blasted Lands,
eventually coming across a collapsed tunnel. Digging furiously, they
were soon able to clear out the tunnel and discover the long hidden
ruins of Malacoda manor. Working through the ruins, they soon discovered
and repaired a mysterious mirror. The mirror transported them to an
alternate version of the manor, whole but decaying from age. In this new
alernate reality, the mirror was again cracked. Would repairing the
mirror there lead back to the Blasted Lands or somewhere else? It soon
became obvious that reality was not as it seemed, but eventually the
group found a robed figure who challenged them to a card game called
'Fate'. Sidd of the Glomdoring accepted the challenge of the robed
figure and bested him. The figure disintegrated, revealing the dead form
of an aged loboshigaru.

Later, the group encountered the ghostly form of Eluan, Lord of
Malacoda, who asked for aid in reuniting his lost kin who wandered the
manor. Working over several days, Sidd led a group to do just that.
Afterward, Eluan rose from his grief into lucidity and ordered them to
slay the mysterious figure known as Dark Master Naule who wandered
somewhere within the manor. After doing so, Eluan was able to finish
reuniting the people of Malacoda and heal the fragmented mirror.

Speaking with the grateful Eluan, it was learned that the Blasted Lands
were once verdant plains, watched over by the House n'Lochli who ruled
Malacoda Manor. In the days of the Celestine Empire, Eluan n'Lochli was
a high-ranked member of the House of Prophets and had a vision that
Project Cosmic Hope would end in failure, tragedy and darkness. When his
visions and prophesies were first ignored and then suppressed, he turned
to the Mirror of Vestera, an artifact entrusted to the n'Lochli family
who had been researching its properties for generations. The mirror was
created by the Vernal Goddess Vestera and reputedly held the power to
make the very dreams of the wielder into reality. Eluan attempted to
create a bubble of reality in the dream realms where his family in
Malacoda Manor would be safe from the upcoming tragedy which he foresaw.
Unfortunately, Eluan did not fully understand the mirror and lost
control, splintering the manor and its occupants into fragments of
reality.

The mysterious figure of Naule now plots to undo Eluan's control of the
mirror, awaiting a willing servant to aid in his rise to power. What
more can be learned or gained from either Eluan or Naule remains a
mystery. A greater mystery, though, is Vestera's Mirror. What power
could be unlocked from it if it could be properly used?
