As the Full Moon rose, the Serenwilde beseeched their Ancestors for the
wisdom to understand the meaning of the strange dreams that haunted many
who slumbered. Standing before Chuchip, the Spiritsinger Lendren
Starfall heard a dark prophecy which troubled him greatly. Then later,
in the Valley of Tolborolla, Xiran L'Eternae stood before the Font of
Lollabrilla and heard a second prophesy from the Daughter of Rivers.
These prophesies distressed the Serenwilde, so they hid the words and
kept a watchful eye on the Basin of Life.

As the days went by, no threat could be found. Some began to wonder if
there truly was a threat - or if some evil that had plagued their dreams
in the decade past had returned.

The threat came first to the Arysian Isles, as great gouts of fire rose
up from the Bondero Bay. With a great shout, Marinus fought back an
unknown opponent, sending waves of elemental water arching through the
air and calling out to the Lady of Eternal Light. No one knows what
happened then, for Marinus disappeared and could not be found. Those of
New Celest and Serenwilde who came to lend aid only found scores of the
dead and wounded. New Celest questioned Gognigin and threatened him with
death as being the suspect for kidnapping Marinus. Though Gognigin
retreated, he too later disappeared, amidst the cries of dying gorgogs.
The inquisitors of New Celest then slew Ladantine as the likely suspect
to these abductions. But when Emperor Ladantine VII regained his body,
he soon learned the fate of Marinus and Gognigin, as waves of Fire
rolled over the Sea of Despair as Ladantine cried out and, after a brief
fight, joined them.

The silence that followed was only broken some time later, when the
mugwump known as Boljo shouted loudly over the presence of guests. It
was learned that two mugwumps of his acquaintance, Melpith Saelth and
Etilla Leihm. It was learned that though they never had previously any
interest in planar sciences, they were suddenly obsessed with in
studying early theories of planar physics, theories that were researched
by Emperor Ladantine VII early in his rule during the days of the Old
Celestine Empire.

While investigating these arcane subjects, Melpith Saelth and Etilla
Leihm eventually ended up disappearing in the Southern Mountains. Search
parties uncovered a vast network of caves that housed various species of
nagaradja as well as an ancient underground laboratory. The mugwump
scientists were now consumed with recreating the ancient experiments
that were performed in this laboratory abandoned by the old empire.

Eventually, Tervic and Zacc of New Celest helped the mugwumps to
recreate the experiment of old, which was an early test to determine the
existence of aetherspace and what could survive there. As the experiment
culminated, they unwittingly released a dreaded cloier onto the Basin of
Life. This enormous hideous creature threatened destruction of the
Basin, but luckily it was stunned and weak, and Tervic was eventually
able to slay the monstrosity single handedly.

Just as the cloier died, the Dread Lord of Contagion materialized and
ripped out an organ from within the aethercreature. Apparently, this
entire series of events was diabolically orchestrated by the Dread Lord
in order to seize the organ. Laughing maniacally and threatening a great
doom for the Basin, the Dread Lord disappeared and has not been heard
from since.

Penned by My hand on the 7th of Juliary, in the year 194 CE.
