12.2.9.18 THE GORLOGNAL ACADEMY

Gorlognal Academy sits within the Gaaglin Swamp, outside of the borders of the Basin of Life. Built, staffed and attended by descendants of mugwump exiles from the Balach Swamp, the Academy is considered a spiritual successor to the vaunted and historied Balach Institute of Magic and Science. Within, the academians study the intricacies of various scholarly fields, pushing to further the bounds of mortal knowledge much as their mugwump forebears did.

Unfortunately, the inhabitants of the surrounding swamp have taken exception to the Academy's existence, and the institution is constantly under threat of sabotage, sometimes made to sink into the depths of the grounds from which it was raised. The scholars are undeterred, however, and ever work to keep their Academy afloat and their research at the forefront of Lusternian academic inquiry.
