I beg to differ.

Wrong is in the eye of the beholder.
The building does not destroy the field anymore than that treetop home
prevents a squirrel or bird from building a home or plants growing in
that same spot. You make it sound as though the inhabitants of those
trees are domesticated, in which case, that in itself is destruction of
the natural habitat. Once the building has eroded away and nature
overruns it, as it always does, the field will return to normal. And do
not those dwellings take up the birds' space for nests?
Birds often nest for a small period of time and do not linger for years
and years in a single spot. Either way, mortals are imposing theirselves
upon the natural environment.
I know quite well about the cycle of nature. To assume differently about
me would be to assume something false. Rebirth is part of the natural
cycle of life, however, the methods currently practiced are not. They
are derived from it, yes, but they do not occur naturally. Life dies
off, and from it new life is born. To slay an animal and immediately
give it rebirth is a perversion of the cycle's workings. It undermines
the balances in place.
Naturally, the essence of the corpse is transferred through
decomposition or by being devoured. It eventually, over time, finds its
way as part of a new life. This is not immediate, and the essence of the
original form of life does not fully transfer, but instead mixes with
others to form the new life. If an animal dies, it does not miraculously
reincarnate into a new creature all on its own. To believe such is...
well, I'm sure I don't need to say it.
That would be one of the reasons I left the Serenwilde commune and
became a rogue. Notice that I did not join Celest until Serenwilde took
it upon itself to attack me without being provoked. I would prefer that
You keep such topics of my past off the public boards and keep them to
personal conversations. I have no desire to justify myself to You. Doing
so would gain me nothing at all, even if You were to believe me.
And so I consider it no loss and will refrain from mentioning, since I
am forced to show You an amount of respect in fear of Divine punishment,
that I could care less too. And yes, the facts do speak... but it all
depends on the point of view.
Let's also remember that this conversation is not about my past. It is
about the facts of nature. To bring up my past would appear as a low
blow to knock me off track and ruin any credibility. Come now.. surely
we can play a bit friendlier than that.
