In response.. unfortunately

I can see where this is going... at least until I tire of arguing with a
piece of stone.

To serve Nature in what way? How exactly do you do anything different
than what the cities do? You live in trees. You grow trees. Oh my, that
provides Nature with a huge benefit. And yet, you and your fellow
"members" have been known to release the gorgogs upon the Basin and help
aid the White Priestess. Your kind has even been seen aiding in the
defense of Nil and Earth. Risk the Basin and Nature to harm Celest. Oh
my.. what sacrifice you've been taught by the White Hart!

My history as a druid has nothing to do with this. I did quite well and
rose in the ranks at a decent rate. I followed all rules and laws until
the end... I developed my own beliefs, rather than be forced into
submission of something I did not believe was necessary. You, however,
have tarnished the Hartstone's image with your loud, obnoxious ramblings
and your assumption that a being such as yourself would actually know an
ounce of anything.
If anyone is the traitor, it's you for your blind hatred towards
anything that doesn't fit into or benefit your perfect little world of
moonhart saplings and fur-covered stags. Really, please do go back to
cleaning up the Aspects' droppings.

The "members" of the Serenwilde are citizens of the political structure-
the Serenwilde commune. However, they live in the Serenwilde forest.
That's obvious.

No, dear Kalodan, if everyone does the same thing, and only one is
punished or accused of it, then that would be hypocrisy. Serenwilde does
the same things that Celest does, and yet Celest is the guilty one. Oh
look, Magnagora is a city too! So were Hallifax and Gaudiguch!

And yet again, the Hartstone was never betrayed. I simply refused to
take part in its internal politics. And yet, who was the first to start
throwing stones and thorns? Once again, obey every detail or be branded
an enemy... such is the way of Hartstone? I hope not.

Funny you should mention where a forest can grow and where it can't. I
find ethereal forests in places forests shouldn't grow all the time..
does that make them unnatural? Ah, here come the gasps as people soon
realize that, yes, ethereal forests in a desert or ocean are just as
unnatural as a flooded garden in a city.
And, by the way, my mentioning of the Serenwilde forest growing into the
surrounding environments is in regards to the comment of New Celest
forcing animals and such out of their homes to make way for the city.
Expanding the forest is no different than relocating stone and
destroying a habitat. Not to mention, neither are being done by Nature,
but by mortals. So in a sense, neither are acts of Nature.
And before you say it, Nature is not entirely a single forest known as
Serenwilde.

I do not need a lesson in Ecology, Kalodan. I was once an Ecologist.
Save your energy and ink. It would be better used to fill your order
from the local alchemist that you so direly need.

And please, Kalodan, do not confuse Nature with the "Hunt". Nature is
not solely about this idea of hunting. Funny how you change your views
based upon which Elder just happens to appear within the Basin once
more. Try to be a little more concrete, please. Oh, and cities do not
slaughter all animals in their path, at least Celest does not. If such
were the case, I would expect the Inner Sea and Oleanvir to be barren by
now.

The fact that you derive resources from a city-like group of people is
where the issue lies. You allow villages to flourish as cities do, and
yet you shun cities for what they do.. when in actuality, both groups
function in much the same way. The only difference is size. City
dwellers, too, serve Nature in what ways they can. Taking stone to build
does not harm Nature. Stone grows on its own and will never run out.
Wood from trees may, but once again, the communes refuse to teach the
cities how to replant the trees, thus forcing the cities into a position
where they either submit or be cast away. Sounds rather.. forceful and
controlling to me.

So mere mortals wield the cycles of Nature to their desires.. Thank you
for clarifying that. Somehow, I do not believe that was Nature's intent,
to be manipulated in such an unnatural fashion. But then again, as long
as you are a "member" of the Serenwilde commune, you may do as you
please and always be labeled as doing what is "right" for Nature. Do
note, there is a bit of sarcasm hidden between those lines.

How many times must you be told that stone, which comes from the
mountains, is natural? It's no more different than the wood of your
cudgel. That wood is not part of a tree anymore, is it? No. What about
the statues lining the road through the Serenwilde? I chose to live
within walls of natural stone, seeing as how they provide more
protection than flimsy twigs, branches, and leaves. These stone walls
are no more empty than the wooden floorboards of your treetop bridges.

In truth, the cities, save Magnagora, have not harmed Nature in any way
that could put Nature at risk. It could even be said that they have not
harmed it at all, according to what you say. Well, there was the release
of the Taint, but as the histories tell us, Serenwilde sat back and
watched as it all unfolded. So, there should be absolutely no reason to
dislike them or brand them enemies of Nature. Simply because they live
in stone walls, that's what makes them such horrible people?
Really, Kalodan, stop being so prejudice against your fellow, untainted,
mortals that you share the Basin with. Would you rather Celest relocate
to another plane or outside the Basin so that the Taint could overrun
it? You do realize that these people who supposedly rape and pilage
Nature are the primary force keeping the Taint at bay? If it wasn't for
their constant warring, what do you think Magnagora would be up to right
now? That's more of a rhetorical question, actually.

And now I tire. It's a rather draining task, speaking to an object as
dense as the walls of Rockholm.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Dvarsh, in the year 174 CE.
