debate on Lord Elostian

Addressed to: Everyone
Warm greetings, Lusternians. I scribe these words to you today as a
member of the order of Lord Elostian.
Since the Enigma's appearance two years ago, there has been widespread
speculation as to His nature. Some have compared Him to one or both of
His predecessors, others to Morgfyre the Legion; He has been called a
new Avechna, and been mentioned in the same breath as the Soulless.
Because of these many and varied opinions about His nature, Lord
Elostian has chosen to hold a debate on the subject. It is His belief
that anybody who considers the matter with an open mind will benefit
from the experience, that the well-reasoned opinions expressed by the
participants will help teach everyone who listens.
This debate will be held in the forum of the World Library. We shall
gather at the beginning of the 22nd day of Dvarsh of this year (roughly
a month and a half from now), and the debate will commence when all who
wish to participate are present.
I emphasize that this invitation is extended to all who wish to attend.
There are no limitations based on organizational affiliation or beliefs;
anyone who can behave appropriately during the debate is welcome.
Moreover, by express wish of Lord Elostian, nobody's beliefs about His
nature are to be scorned or rejected out of hand. Like all investigation
in His name, this debate will be conducted on the level of reasoned
argument: any assertion can be put forward, or challenged, but only on
the basis of support and evidence, not prejudice.
I'm also pleased to mention that those who manage to impress Him with
their arguments shall bear His favour, and those who stand out above the
others shall be rewarded for their effort and skills.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the lovely echoing, airy marble
forum this summer.
