Not even two months after his marriage to Isluna, which I personally
attended, and having given no indication that he even had a problem with
it, Stagar flew into a jealous rage that I had not stopped hanging out
with her. He sought me out and attacked without warning, stealing 500 K
which I had on me not even for myself, but to make a gift of a new clan
to Rhosyn.

Flaunting all Magnagora's laws against theft, Stagar refused to return
the money.

Now 500 K is a lot of money, and I stand to lose even more by closing
the door's of Cat's Paw. But here's the thing: I don't care.

Tailoring's never been about the money for me. It's been about the joy
of the craft. And for decades, my chief joy in being a tailor has come
from sitting down with Isluna and dreaming up new designs together. If I
can be robbed for the sin of doing that, then I just don't have any
reason to be in business anymore.

So, sorry to spoil the surprise for Rhosyn, but my doors are staying
locked until the day she has that clan that Stagar stole from her. Where
that money comes from, I leave to the basin to puzzle out. Badger him
for it, collect donations for Rhosyn, just gift her some old clan that's
collecting dust... I don't care. I just know that Stagar's never going
to set things right for my sake.
