The last person to try and form a Basin-wide news system ended up hated,
disgraced, and dead - in that order. Organizations don't want their
information being leaked, as you said, and will enemy you and any others
involved in a leak, as well as all other members of your team as a
precaution. And, frankly, not enough of any interest occurs in public
(parties and your other examples given) for you to report on.

Furthermore, no one is about to send large sums of their hard-earned
gold to some upstart Mugwump just out of the Portal. How do we know we
can trust you? And if we can, how do we know you'll make good use of our
money? The fact is, we can't. The same questions will be asked by anyone
who would be willing to pay 100 gold per month (not a very small fee)
just to hear you blither about some manse gathering over a clan
aetherwave.

I suggest you reassess your situation and put your 'dreams' on hold.
Make a name for yourself in more reputable and less risky business,
perhaps serving as a member of a city or commune. Rogues do not have an
easy life, as I'm sure you're aware, and to be perfectly blunt, you
don't stand a chance.
