Reaping what one sews

First, it should be noted that I am speaking of my own accord - My words
are my own, and are NOT spoken on behalf of my forest, my Guild, or
anything else.

That being said...

The time has come for you, Serenwilde, and you shall reap the foul seeds
that you have sewn. The Basin's trust for you is forever diminished, and
you've revealed yourselves as the hopeless charlatans and liars that you
are. Never again will another Organization trust you completely due to
your misgivings. So sad is this state of affairs that even your own
citizens cry out against you, demanding a change in leadership that will
sadly never come. You broke your Oath, Serenwilde, your sacred pact.
Now, you shall all suffer because of it. The spirits have left
Glomdoring this day, Grutina Oakvine and her ilk returned to you as per
the agreement. But note, Serenwilde, that the Glomdoring did not send
these Dark Messengers to you, we did not toss them back in vengeance
even in our anger. Nay, we grew rather accustomed to these spirits
within our Wood, and they to it. However, not all creatures and entities
are as frivilous with their vows as you, Serenwilde, and these spirits
were as bound by this promise as Glomdoring was - As you were supposed
to be. They hold true to the words, "Should we break this pledge, our
bane will be returned to us," Written in your Oath to us. Even now they
infest your forest, wreaking havoc and spreading decay amongst your
trees. May your forest burn in great pillars of black flame, Serenwilde,
let the weight of the bane that you so freely accepted again crush as
though you were insects.

You had your chance for salvation.

-Prince of Shadows, Valarien Moonbane
