Sorry for the delay in posting these rules. I've been pretty busy of
late.
TULLY'S QUEST FOR THE MOST FASHIONABLE BOYO
Date of the Event: 13th of Urlachmar, year 149
Location: To Be Determined
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1) Ye must have skill in Tailoring to join up. Sorry, but for this prize
we need true tailors. A true fashion designer should have started in the
trenches.
2) Ye can submit up to three outfits for consideration. Here are the
rules for outfits.
a) An outfit is a collection of clothing items. At least 50% of the
items should be crafted by the tailor submitting them. Show me that ye
can sew before ye design!
b) An outfit should be designated as for male, female, or unisex. And be
serious--no bra's or skirts for men (even fatties), although a kilt is
okay, otherwise ye will get disqualified.
c) Outfits should be designed for all races as is the norm. There are 18
of us "little cousins" as Elcyrion would say, so don't submit designs
dedicated to one race.
d) Armour is expressly forbidden as being part of an outfit. Walking
around in a party dressed in Full Plate is not being one of high
fashion. THIS ALSO INCLUDES GREAT ROBES. Sorry to all who wear them but
robes are more uniform than posh. Remember, this is for general social
gatherings, not when ye are facing the damn astral-taint-squid-boyo when
he's about to eat Estarra and the world.
e) At least one item in the outfit should be embroidered with ye fashion
label--which can be a slogan, brand name, or motto. Fashion designers
need to have a proper label.
f) Ye do not have to (and should not) proof the clothes against the
elements or magic, or otherwise enchant them. This will not count for
the fashion. People who want to protect themselves will usually get
their outfits customized.
g) Ye can accessorize with jewelry. It will help a little bit in the
judgement but will never be a deciding factor. Just to clarify a
point--I mean no insult to the communes--but skyclad with 100 seperate
jewelry items is not an option. Remember, it's good modesty to cover up
ye FAMILY jewels.
h) Packs and belts can be included, but do not include scabbards,
pocketbelts, sacks, runebags, or frogges. Most people will be purchasing
these as needed for their sidearms.
i) At least one outfit should be for general everyday use, the more
pieces the better (that which can make you dressed warmly or normally).
The other two outfits can be based on a theme, such as nightwear,
swimwear, hunting outfits, etc.
3) Each outfit should be accompanied by a preserved letter or scroll,
describing the outfit in detail. This is what I will use to annouce each
outfit when it's displayed by the models, so ye should write it as ye
sales pitch, so to speak. [OOC: Please also inventory the outfit items
with item numbers so that nothing gets lost]. The outfit and letter
should be in its own sack.
4) Outfits should be submitted by mail to Tully. Make sure they are
submitted 6 months before the date of the event so I can prepare.
However, don't submit so early that some of ye items decay! Keep the
cloth decay factor in mind.
5) Desinger attendance is not required at the actual fashion show. I
know some of ye can be pretty busy. The top desingers will be listed in
the news.
MODEL GUIDELINES
1) Ye must be available to attend at the event at the specified time, of
course.
2) Ye must be good-looking and of nice physical stature. Doesn't matter
what race. Ye can be mortal, denzien or god.
3) Ye need to be willing to get naked and remove your own clothing and
jewelry. (Don't worry, I won't peek). That does mean ye will be without
armor and protection, so don't do this if ye think some assasin is gonna
bum rush the show. Ye should have as little items with ye as possible
when ye attend. Put ye items in a safe place and ye money in a bank
before ye come.
