A Modest Proposal

Proposal: There are 2 mortal Truths.

1. Consciousness is a given...otherwise we ain't.

2. That Consciousness is quantifiable, i.e. measurable, within the
dimensional aspects that mortals can comprehend, and the tool of that
measurement, of that quantifying, is Change.

Day follows night follows day.

Spring flows into Summer into Fall into Winter into Spring.

A plant sprouts from a seed, grows, flowers, goes to seed.

A star in the winter sky flickers and goes out.

We walk from this point and move to that point.

You step into the river with your right foot and then step back. You
then step into the river with your left foot. Have you stepped into the
same river with both feet? No. Change has occurred in the river between
the first step and the second. What is more Change has occurred in the
mortal between the first step and the second.

I concede that it may be possible that all these occurances may be
manipulated to run backwards, out of sequence, suspended, or a host of
other things that mortal mind can conceive of, using powers, skills and
artifacts. This does not negate the conclusion.

Anecdotal manipulation of local phemenomna will not negate the
fundamental base. Reversing the sequence of that plant will not stop
that star from flickering and going out. Stopping that star from going
out will not stop that river from flowing. Stopping one, two or all of
the occurances listed previously, either singly or as an entirety, will
not stop your Consciosness from witnessing and recording the Change and
thus itself Change

Change is the vehicle of mortal Consciousness. Change is a given.

These are the mortal Truths: Consciousness and Change.

Other things are beliefs. Beliefs are a different matter.

Refutation and commentary is heartily welcomed.
