Further thoughts on the Wyrd

Hierophant,

I am merely a young student in the ways of the Wyrd, but even with my
small insight I can see through your half-truths and sophistry. I wanted
to add to the wise words of Warden Raguel, and speak of what I myself
have already learned.

The Glomdoring is not 'Fallen Gloriana' nor her 'rotting corpse', and
you appear to reject health and change for the notion of stagnation. The
essence of Gloriana was purified and perfected by the combined forces of
the Gods into what it was always meant to be, growing to fulfill its
true potential as all living things must. The Wyrden Woods are the
perfection of life itself, the frail child that was Gloriana grown to
mastery and adulthood.

You quiver in fear before great Brennan and Rowena for embracing a power
that you will likely never understand, and you throw your petty insults
as if they carried any weight at all. They have transcended the
limitations of the flesh to gain a mastery over the cycles of life that
you as a 'druid' can only dream of possessing. Perhaps in time you will
see that these ancient teachers seek many of the same things that you
do, only clearly with greater success. That one of the lesser spirits
was used in the miracle from which the Shadowfaelings emerged is hardly
at issue. No lasting damage was done, and it should indeed feel honoured
that its pathetic existence was finally given some slight purpose and a
place in the history of the Glomdoring.

Some like yourself have been fooled by the illusion that the Glomdoring
was infused with the Taint, but even if it was, does it not demonstrate
the supremacy of the Wyrden Woods? Even if Taint had played a role in
the creation of the forest or its denizens, the Glomdoring has used,
overcome and absorbed its power to unlock the true potential of the
wilderness. I personally have little issue with the Taint, it is merely
another tool that we might use in the service of the great Wyrd. Not all
of us are so terrified of power.

Indeed, you say that you fear the poisons and rot which threatens the
living realms, and this drives your crusade against the Tainted and
against our own forest, yet I do not believe this is the case. It is
fear that drives you, and fear that holds you back from truly
acknowledging the fact that we are your kin. Fear to break free of your
self-imposed limitations that weaken your forest from within, fear to
pursue the avenues of lore that offer to empower your frail existence,
and fear of those of us who are not so hesitant.

It is no wonder you have thugs that attack us so vigorously and without
restraint - the might of the Glomdoring forest itself would quickly
overwhelm the fragile 'nature' to which you cling, and it is only by the
force of your vigilantes that you can temporarily hold back the
inevitable. You have remained a backwater in the Basin of Life,
desperately trying to justify your existence in the face of the next
stage of evolution. Did you not flee in terror from the thought of
change, callously abandoning the rest of the Basin for centuries while
you withdrew in fear? And like our poor friends in Ackleberry, did you
not consider the destruction of everything that is sacred to you rather
than face up to inevitable growth?

It is my belief that you have now an opportunity to acknowledge the
power of the Glomdoring, and perhaps cling a little longer to the
powerless stagnation of your forest. We do not need to be your enemies,
I doubt we have much problem with what you do in your own home, and I am
certain we can gain more from peace than from pointless war.

Yet, I suspect you will ignore my words as you have so many others. Fear
is such a powerful motivator, isn't it?

Simply remember that fear is a weakness to be exploited by those without
mercy.
