Addendum to Public post 474: Vernal Gods
Seeing as in my flood of thought I left out through mere oversight the
Vernal Gods, I'll give my theory on them, and how they fit into the
layout I explained.
First of all, no, I do not believe that the Vernal gods are truly the
epitome of what Mortals are capable of. In fact, I believe the Vernal
gods were simply Mortals who were empowered by Material energies, base
forces which the Consciousness of Dynara created during its early forays
into creation, prior to the Soulless Gods coming into existence. The
power which Vernal gods were imbued with was and is, akin to an
elemental force, such as the building blocks of physical matter, etc.
I believe that the Mortals true power, lies within the untapped, and
likely overflowing amount of power which is our Mortal Soul derived from
Yudhe. I failed to clarify this in my previous post because I got lost
on a tangent, for which I apologize, my mind tends to wander when I
write, and it did so then.
The three forms of mortal gods, are the Soulless, the Elder Gods, and
the Vernal gods. I say Mortal gods, because it has been proven that all
three kinds Can die, though not of old age or natural causes. A truly
immortal god would be one such as Yudhe, or His direct descendants,
Dynara, Magnora, and his Nameless Son, who though gone, still lives in
some form. Another which could likely placed within such a term as
Immortal god, or goddess as the situation requires, would be Lady
Estarra.
A study of each type of mortal god can show us a great deal:
The Soulless:
Perfectly built creatures, but without a soul, as the name implies.
Apparent consequence of a lack of a soul is a severely destructive
nature, lack of conscience, lack of remorse or any true emotion. Easily
the most powerful of the mortal gods; this could be attributed to the
lack of soul, or perhaps a larger amount of material energies required
to give true life to a being without a soul.
The Elder Gods:
Far more complex than the Soulless, the Elder gods were created
initially as the first true living beings. The Elder Gods had pieces of
Dynara's Soul within them, giving them their own soul. This obviously
effected them in that they then held emotion, conscience, remorse
(though some more or less than others), etc. The further effects are
unknown, one could be that the Elder Gods were capable of creating other
things. This may not have been a unique ability, but rather simply one
that they chose to use, and the Soulless had no desire to use. It is
true that the Elder Gods were not as powerful individually as the
Soulless, and in fact lost a war against them. This begs the question if
having a soul weakened the Elder gods, or if perhaps they held a
different power that was untapped.
The Vernal Gods:
Created in a completely different manner than the other two, the Vernal
Gods came to be as Mortal shards of Elder gods, just as all mortal
beings did. They grew to greatness among their peers over the years as
the Soulless gods preyed upon the Mortals of Lusternia after the Elder
Gods fled. The first Edifice of Power (nexus) was created in
Glomborolum, designed by Gorob, who came to be the first Vernal God
D'Varsha. The actual process of creating a Vernal God or Goddess has
always been the same: The Edifice of Power is charged with energies,
until there are enough to channel completely into the subject to be
raised to godhood. These energies are similar to the energies that the
Soulless Gods use, and hold no Soul energies. This made the Vernal Gods
powerful enough to challenge the Soulless gods. But if the energies they
used were the same as those used by the Soulless, why did they not
become evil... Simple, the Vernal gods already HAD a mortal soul!
Smaller yes, but it must be believed that even the smallest amount of
this Soul energy is capable of giving a living being the foundations of
right and wrong, conscience, etc... Therefore, the Vernal Gods remained
good, and eventually banished the Soulless from our universe.
Now, where would the Vernal Gods fit in my previously outlined Pyramid
of life? I believe the Vernal Gods would fit in the same layer as
Mortals, as they Were always mortals, in every fashion but the material
energies they were capable of wielding. It must also be noticed that I
did not place the Soulless ANYWHERE in the Pyramid. The reason for this
is because I do not believe they were living beings, but rather more a
force of the universe. Like a planet, or more like a black hole in deep
space, consuming planets and all things around them. They served a
purpose, that cannot be argued, perhaps they simply served that purpose
too well. The reason they were not true living beings is because a
living being must have a soul, or spirit, however small, the Soulless
had none.
