To the Slavers of Acknor:

Written by: His Holiness, King Galvadore, the Starsailor

Addressed to: Everyone

Villagers of Acknor,

While your loyalty to the Kingdom of New Celest is noble and appreciated
and your willingness to attempt to embrace the Light admirable, you will
find that the glory of the Light cannot fully become a part of your
lives while practices such as slavery continue within your confines.

To participate in or profit from the enslavement of sentient beings is
an ethic not held or very well tolerated by New Celest. Therefore,
within 5 months it will be expected of your village to have found
acceptable alternatives to conducting business and going about life in
general.

There are many other economical and moral alternatives to slavery that
your culture could adopt for the betterment of yourselves and the Basin
as a whole. Programs could be created by which labourers could be
legitimately hired or contracted to serve in exchange for boarding.
Perhaps embracing more spiritual aspects into your lives could draw
people to serve and work out of faith and piety, willingly rather than
forcibly, and your people could come to understand the merits of the
works of faith. Take an example from the varied pilgrims of the Basin
that frequent the highways, seeking Avechna's Peak. Imagine if instead
of relying upon slaves that are ultimately another resource to be fought
over, people flocked to Acknor for worship. All these people coming to
live in or occupy your village would need their material needs met
during their stay, and what better way than to earn their keep and at
the same time contribute to your welfare? You'll find that the spiritual
gains will equal or surpass the commercial ones.

When people work for a cause willingly, then it becomes worthwhile.
Otherwise, any profits reaped are basically hollow, insubstantial and
transient. The coin that is earned through the labour and struggle of
the spirit however, has no equal and may never be lost.

Should your people require assisstance in complying with the true ways
of the Light, you need only to send notice by some means to the Star
Council.

King Galvadore, the Starsailor
