Public News Post #174

Recent Developments

Greetings everyone. Today I bring to you a matter for you to decide
upon. I state the facts, and no one but yourselves may tell you if I am
correct, or if I am not.

In my latest effort to make peace, I tracked down Nikua, and asked him
if he had read my recent news posts. Once he finished, we talked for a
bit about my enemy status. Nikua was convinced that one of the clans I
was in was housing the Disciples of Crow. Trying to accomodate him, and
meet him halfway, I quit every clan and cartel I was in, except for my
own clan, The Black Market.

Some of you may or may not know, but The Black Market is a private clan
of all master merchants. Nikua was convinced that The Black Market was
the Disciples. So, I inducted him into my private clan, something I have
never done without an interview, and a good amount of trust. He looked
around, at our clanhelp, at our news, and was not convinced. He asked
for log powers. I gave them to him. The only thing he found in the logs,
which only the Divine can change, were me booting out several Serenwilde
merchants (to protect thier privacy), and me inducting him. It was not
enough to convince him that my clan was not the Disciples. Having
nothing more to possibly show him, and meeting resistance from my
disgruntled merchants, Nikua left my clan.

The last bit of information was for background's sake. The real jewel is
what happened afterward. Several friends tell me that after quitting my
clan, Nikua told everyone that Visaeris was in my clan, and that the
logs showed I had booted Visaeris out right before inducting Nikua.

There are two things wrong with that:
1. Visaeris' spirit was not with us at the time. He had gone into
meditation some time before I talked to Nikua.
2. It is a blatant lie. The logs do not show Visaeris, because he has
never been in The Black Market.

To turn this into a matter of fact, and not a he-said-she-said
conversation, I inducted Tuek, who promptly realized that I had spoken
the truth.

I do not know what ill-will Nikua has for me now, other than any
leftover sour feelings from my previous affiliation. But I am not the
issue I bring forth today. My clan is not the issue.

The issue is, the Seneschal of Serenwilde has blatantly lied his commune
members today. I will not speculate if he has done it before, or if he
will again.

I just present the facts.

Sincerely,
Trademaster Richter Carthan
