and Bau

You may be right, Zolas, in your assumption that I am a pompous ass.
However, the lack of support in your statement weakens your assertion of
my rudeness. I will grant that, despite the lack of support for your
thesis, I am an ass, and pompous as well; although, I consider it more
important to call myself a Lucidian.
Thank you, however, for introducing the next topic for me! Support: it
is important because, without it, you have no argument. In fact, a
critical or rhetorical writing without support is nothing but your own
opinion; while you must insert your opinion in order to write an essay
or speech, you must also be certain that you have outside support
because it allows the reader to evaluate the evidence for himself,
instead of having to rely on your word for your assessment.
For example, Zolas, your writing would have been much more effective had
you cited part of my opening sentence, such as "many of the gutless
spit-wads," my arrogance and asinine nature would be apparent for all to
see. Unfortunately, you receive only an "adequate" on your reply due to
your lack of evidence.
Unfortunately, Bau, you receive a failing mark. You have resorted to the
argumentative fallacy known as "ad hominem" in your second point. For
your knowledge, this fallacy refers to the attack on a particular person
rather than his argument. While your first point is satisfactory in
addressing my previous lesson (you even include evidence, without the
need for this lesson!), you are entirely incorrect. Simply by assessing
that the post is your opinion is an unnecessary expenditure of words,
for it is assumed by all that you are posting your own opinion. Why must
you inform us again that you are only posting for yourself? Obviously,
you fear the repercussions such an opinion would have. As my brother
used to say, "Why speak when it is not necessary?"
I know that I write to teach. Why do you?
