The saga of a pair of swords.

Dear Ixion,

As you know, I recently paid a visit to a shop in Magnagora owned by
your wife. I was chasing after her at the time, all the way from the
Holy Realm, where she had been slaying angels; my intention was to kill
her.

After she fled, I had a look around, and decided to appropriate most of
the shop's stores. This included a number of hunting 'trophies', bearing
the decapitated heads of Celestians, and a pair of broadswords which I
knew to be yours. Apparently, you are somewhat attached to them.

Now, allow me to tell a short story - a refresher, if you like, for your
memory. A few decades ago, you stole a pair of broadswords belonging to
Malicia, a paladin and acquaintance of mine, to which she was equally
attached. After a long, bitter episode of your taunting her with
insults, bullying, and sexual harassment, you offered to return them -
on the condition that she kneeled in a public place, openly begged for
you to return them, and then, finally, let you kill her. This incident
all but tore her apart, upset her to the point of depression and took a
very long time to recover from. What are you, then, but a worthless,
cowardly, spineless cretin? Tell me - what mercy do you deserve?

Back to the present. Beyond the political, I have no quarrel with
Athana. I'm as fond of her as I can be of any tainted, angel-killing
scum, and she has been fond of me in the past, perhaps more than you
would like or know about. I have returned all of the items to her, with
two exceptions.

The hunting trophies of Celestians, which are ghastly, heretical, and
bordering on the aesthetically criminal, have been destroyed.

As for your broadswords, they are currently in the possession of...
Malicia. I suggest that you practice pressing your face into the dirt
and begging. Even so, I would advise her against returning them. They
are covered in Celestian blood, a factor which in my mind nullifies your
right of ownership.

The moral of the tale? Justice is rough. And I am too old, scarred and
bitter to forgive. But most of all, your lesson should be that the Light
always, always prevails.

Yours in Light,

Amaru La'Saet.
