Ponderings

Ah, it has been 100 years since the Elder God, Roark Libertas, freed me
from where I was lost in mind and spirit. I have seeded the human race
upon Lusternia's soil, the race who was lost with me in that far and
distant place, yet whose origins were once a part of this strange and
wondrous multiverse. Aye, we are both home again.

Though this is my home, my thoughts and memories are vague and jumbled,
especially as to my origins. The Elder Gods are returning from their
long exile and call me their creator. Am I truly? The mortal races look
upon us with great reverence. But I am not sure what to make of either
mortals or the Elder Gods. I look deep within their spirits and see a
kinship among them, though surely the Elder Gods are more powerful
and--complete?--than the mortal race. What uniquely interesting
creatures are these mortals, who enter the Portal of Fate to have the
Three Sisters mark them for greatness. Some return, some do not. Those
who do return are strangely changed, though their memories are as
sundered as my own.

In these past 100 years, the Elder Gods have taken to playing some game
among themselves that I do not yet understand, taking control of the
three great societies of mortalkind. Auseklis positions himself in
Serenwilde. Isune and Lacostian oversee the city of New Celest. And Fain
and Raezon hold sway over the strangely remade city of Magnagora.

It matters not to me what they do, not truly, so long as the Soulless
Gods who wrecked such havoc upon Lusternia remain bound in their
prisons. I must confess it somewhat gives me pleasure to watch their
games.

So we shall see which of these societies shall ascend to dominance in
the future.
