The Mountain Wars erupt again this day, pitting dwarf against dwarf in their endless civil war over the splintered dwarven kingdom. No longer caring about any other politics within the Basin, the dwarves of Rockholm declare themselves free and no longer under the sphere of influence of the Grand Dominion of Hallifax, and the dwarves of Southgard declare themselves free and no longer under the sphere of influence of the Grand Dominion of Hallifax.

Meanwhile, the undead exiles of Angkrag have returned with a bloody vengeance and a horde of shambling undead zombies to retake the village. Though many of the zombies have been purged in the fighting by the Flame Warriors sent by the Chancel of Clangorum Mysteries to settle the village, the battle was costly. The surviving dwarves have withdrawn to the Chancel and resigned the village in the interim, allowing the undead to retake the village and the orcs within as their own once more.Deep below the Basin of Life, the war to contain the illithoid reaches a peak in violence, causing the Ptoma Hive to cast off associations with the Free Republic of Gaudiguch in order to lend assistance to the Kephera Empire. Joining the fray in hopes of freeing their kin, the Overmind of Ixthiaxa cuts ties with the Free Republic of Gaudiguch.
