Dawning Hope

While the slivven infestation wrecked havon on Avechna's Peak, in New
Celest, a flame had fallen from the wake of the gnomish aethership and
weakly tried to stay alight. The Holy Supernals of Celestia stated that
they could bring the flame back to strength, but only if specific tasks
were done for each, in order to strengthen their blessings. Celestians
of all callings flocked to the Peak, gathering the mysterious cognito
rock for Methrenton, who used it to heat his forge anew and lend
strength to the flame. Aquis and Azyurial, however, were able to tend to
a seed from the Loving Radiance, which blossomed into a rose that
blessed the flame.

Elohora, Lady of the Eternal Light, declared that her blessing would be
that of Light itself, and Syridean quickly set about cajoling the angels
of Celestia into blessing the flame. Meanwhile, Japhiel sent Staar and
Ilyssa on a mission through the city itself to retrieve wayward
supplicants - some of whom hid themselves away quite cleverly!

Once all was completed, Shakiniel, Defender of the Dawning Hope, finally
gave her task. An artifact of her creation called the Light of the Grace
Shield would do to bring the flame to full strength, she said, though it
rested on a lost island. With the help of many, Shakiniel fashioned a
beacon of diamond, gold, and light essence to reveal the Cay of
Cloadahi, which had been lost to the ages due to the miscompletion of a
defensive ritual.

Lorina, Syridean, Azyurial, Pesukaru, and Jayden lead the charge into
the Cay, setting about assisting its inhabitants with their ritual.
After many puzzles and much frustration, their cleverness bore fruit,
and the ritual was at last completed, blanketing the Inner Sea in mist
and revealing the Light of the Grace Shield - although it was Rika
Talnara, Governor of Hallifax, who unwittingly stole the last moment,
performing the final action needed to finish the rite.

The group of Celestians quickly spirited the Light of the Grace Shield
back to Celestia, where Shakiniel bathed the flame in its light. Renewed
and invigorated, the flame at last reformed into its true shape - that
of Lyreth, the Sidereal Prince. After His long absence, what He finds
and what He plans to do remain to be seen...

Penned by My hand on the 9th of Juliary, in the year 262 CE.
