The Spire of Dionamus

In the second half of Urlachmar 252 after the Coming of Estarra, the
youth Tytone Farain arrived via ship in New Celest. The joy upon being
reunited with his sister, Jarana Farain, was great, yet he had come with
a purpose and in his youthful eagerness sought to get started upon his
self-appointed task immediately.

Claiming to know for a fact that the Lute of Rhapsody had not been
destroyed by the Tempest many years ago, he had come to seek help in
finding it. He speculated that by tracking the essence of Rhapsody, one
could find the Lute as well, as the instrument is deeply intertwined
with the Voice. Yet he knew of no one capable of such a feat.

Ready to help, a group lead by the Celestian Telperion sought out the
Aquamancer scholar Manchal, asking him for aide and direction. Though
Manchal did not know how to find the Lute either - nor was he convinced
that it still existed unharmed at that - he suggested to find someone
knowledgeable about energy signature. It was soon proposed to ask the
lucidians in the Arthar'rt.Observatory and so the group continued to ask
Atrian Lerit'r for help.

Hesitant to put his own experiments aside, Atrian merely mentioned he
might be able to do it, if given a piece of essence to work with. As
this was the most promising solution they had been able to find, the
Celestians brought Atrian a white dove, one of the flock of thousands
into which the Voice of Rhapsody had once transformed to hide. Yet as
this sounded the most promising so far, the Celestians brought a white
dove to him, one of a flock of thousands into which Rhapsody had once
transformed to Her Voice to hide it. Using the dove, Atrian successfully
tuned the teleporter and beckoned for a willing subject to test it.

The teleportation was a success - to an extent. The group of Celestians
was thrown high into the sky, several hundred feet above an aerial glass
spire that no one had ever seen before. As the fall was great and harsh,
none of them survived this first glimpse however. Eager now, as his
teleportation had surprisingly worked, Atrian reconfigured the
teleportation device, tuning it to transport to a location close but not
too close to the Lute.

This time, the group of Celestians ported safely, arriving in a cold and
inhospitable place. Fiendish skara and ferocious garul populated the
snow covered mountain, taking their toll on the lives of anyone entering
the mountain.

Not much later, members of the Glomdoring arrived, curious as to what
secrets the mountain held. It was soon discovered that this inhospitable
place was named after the Lord Healer, Dionamus. In honour of His Spire
that rises from the highest peak on the mountain, the name Mount Dio was
given to the entire area.

Yet as the Spire was discovered, it became obvious that it had fallen
into grave disrepair. Soon enough, people from Celest and Glomdoring
worked to restore the Spire to its original glory. For many days they
explored the mountain, slowly discovering what fate had befallen the
original settlers that lived there and how the damage to the Spire could
be mended.

In the end, it was Xenthos of the Glomdoring that put the last piece
into place, mending the damage to the Spire fully and activating it.
Immediately afterwards, the healing energies of the Spire once again
activated, releasing a dense purple mist into the skies above the First
World. As the Spire affected every race within the Basin of Life it was
soon discovered that some benefited from it while others suffered.

At the same time however, every Nexus within the Basin of Life displayed
an unusual behaviour. The waters of the Pool of Stars quivered and
rippled, the Megalith of Doom shuddered and flared brilliantly, the
pixies of the Moonhart Mother Tree shrieked in fear and the Master
Ravenwood shuddered violently as Mighty Crow jumped from branch to
branch. Soon after however, the Nexuses stilled and a strange quiet
settled.

The cause for this disturbance has yet to be discovered and the
whereabouts of the Lute of Rhapsody remain unknown, much to the distress
of young Tytone Farain.

Penned by My hand on the 2nd of Avechary, in the year 252 CE.
