The Return of Legion

After years of careful planning and study, Raezon, the Forbidden finally
directed His Order in the early days of Dioni in a complex experiment
upon the three strange, metallic spheres that arrived upon the First
World moments after His own return. Using a strange crystal sphere
retrieved from a ship recently spotted in Magnagora's Harbour, the
Pegasus Aestra, lured to Him by Yuniko and Revan, and the three metallic
spheres retrieved from their holding place within His Fulcrux, He
gathered with His Order in a secret location beneath the dark waters of
the Sea of Despair. Their experiment, though successful, had immediate
and obvious side effects, killing all life outside His protection within
the Sea and producing worrying effects felt by all in the Basin of Life.

Shortly after these strange occurrences, alien voices began to scatter
upon the wind around Magnagora, causing the clouds of soot above to
seethe violently in reaction to this unknown presence. Arguing
incessantly amongst themselves, the volume of the voices began to grow
in intensity before a high-pitched wail accompanied bolts slamming
powerfully into the ground. Silhouettes appeared in the dark clouds
above as the voices manifested into physical forms, having possessed the
bodies of denizens within the city against their will. Three forms
fought ardently against each other above the city limits, each attack to
no avail as some unseen power repelled them from harming each other.
Reluctantly, each of the warring factions floated down to the ground,
deciding to use their own unique powers of persuasion to sway the
citizens of Magnagora to champion their cause.

Little was known about these strange "spirits" which had taken over the
forms of a slender waif, a warrior-priest of Morgfyre and a shadowed
cultist, but their animosity towards each other was painfully apparent
as the airways were polluted by heated verbal exchanges from each party.
The only thing which was made clear was that while all three of them
remain alive, the sum of their parts will never be whole. Each side made
promises of power to any who aided them, requiring the essence of the
fallen to muster strength and eventually consume their rivals. There was
much speculation as to what this meant, with some people assuming that
the long-departed Hajamin, the Golden Lord, was somehow involved, while
others put it down to some rogue spirits causing trouble and others
noted the similarity to Morgfyre, the Legion in that He gained
unfathomable strength by consuming others.

Over the course of many painstaking days the Iron Council deliberated as
to how to deal with the situation, with their favoured side changing
repeatedly over the course of time. In the end the seemingly insane
waif, who spent the majority of her time begging for corpses, dancing
around like a fool and screeching like a rabid banshee, was chosen as
the one to emerge victorious. The warrior-priest responded aggressively
to this decision, branding those present as fools and taunting many of
those nearby. The cultist, on the other hand, attempted to sway people
through more insidious methods, secretly offering power to those who
defied their leaders and aided him. Ultimately all their efforts came to
naught as the warrior-priest was set upon by the opportunistic waif and
cultist and split into tendrils of multi-coloured light. A day or so
after this the waif, now fully empowered after having devoured
innumerable corpses (yet somehow keeping her slender form as one
perceptive onlooker noticed), dragged the cultist into the skies and
distended her jaw unnaturally to consume him whole. A sudden burst of
incomprehensible voices pierced the airways around the Engine of
Transformation as a vortex of immense energy opened around the form of
the waif. The voices one by one became clearer until they were speaking
in unison, "The Eternal Ouroboros, it calls Us," as soon as this phrase
was uttered the vortex of energy snapped shut around the Temple of
Morgfyre beneath and the waif's physical body began to rapidly change, a
conflagration of fire burning atop her head before she vanished with a
smirk.

Barely more than half a day had passed when a fierce sandstorm enveloped
the Blasted Lands and drew people in search of the Eternal Ouroboros to
its location. The Warlady of Magnagora, Nariah was the first to discover
the sandstorm which now perpetually rages above a burning pit of lava
and to pass through to the Eternal Ouroboros. After a brief pause to
gather herself she moved further within to the Palace nestled within the
coiling body of the Ouroboros. The sublime form of Morgfyre, the Legion
was discovered within, newly awakened by the disturbance above His
resting place and having devoured those rogue spirits who dared attempt
to control Him, declared His triumphant return to the First World once
more. He quickly returned to His seat in the Divine Havens and what He
has planned for the Basin remains to be seen.

Penned by My hand on the 9th of Juliary, in the year 244 CE.
