The Mirror of Tzaraziko

The quiet of an otherwise uneventful month was broken in the early days
of Kiani in the Year 243CE when the outlines of countless winged
creatures marred the horizon, accompanied by a trail of flame and
bloodcurdling screams as they landed in the Skarch Desert. People from
all corners of the Basin of Life immediately travelled to the source of
the screams and were horrified to come across twisted dracnari
overtaking the Lucidian Mesa Compound, all traces of its former
inhabitants nowhere to be seen.

J'hal'ck Taroch, the lucidian commander eventually crawled out from his
hiding place within the Mesa, grievously wounded and the only survivor.
He revealed to those present that both the lucidian and the dracnari had
been working on a secret project aimed at wiping out their rivals
permanently, and that his own brother, Kl'aet Taroch was the one chosen
by the leaders of the Mesa to undertake this project. However,
unbeknownst to the Mesa until that time, the dracnari had been working
on the same project, and their mastery over beasts allowed them the
advantage in that most important moment.

The location of the lucidian commander's brother was eventually found to
be within the Upper Peaks of the Southern Mountains, within what turned
out to be the lair of the manticore who themselves had only recently
become known to the world at large after beginning to hunt the creatures
of the Grey Moors. Sidd of the Glomdoring was the first to find the
location of this lair and wander through its cavernous depths, within,
as J'hal'ck had stated, was his brother Kl'aet, who was incensed that
the dracnari had beat them to their goal, the Mirror of Tzaraziko, a
long-forgotten artifact of the enigmatic Vernal God. This mirror was
known for its ability to replicate any who stepped within, quickly
seeing the advantages to this both the lucidian and dracnari set out to
gain the power for themselves, using it to create mirror images of
themselves to produce an army and wipe out their long-standing enemies.

Meanwhile the fighting continued within the Mesa as the waves of the
twisted dracnari were slain, eventually angry hissing emerged from
within as the leader of the army, Cheonbi Saim, made her presence known
after watching her mirror images fall from her unknown hiding place. She
stormed into the group of those gathered, attempting to slay those
present but was quickly dispatched, with the final blow dealt by Kalas
Ixion. Not one to be quiet for long, Cheonbi eventually reappeared
within her own lair and cried out to those of the Basin seeking aide so
that the lucidian wouldn't gain control of the mirror. The location of
Cheonbi's lair was first discovered by Rniaa of the Glomdoring, within
the Upper Peaks of the Razine Mountains where the famed roc nest.

The race began as fighting broke out within both lairs as people raced
to follow the steps necessary to access the mirror and aide their side
in producing a mirror army. In an ironic twist which only the Fates
could conjure up, it was Kalas Ixion, who had slain Cheonbi on her first
appearance, who performed each step and allowed her access to the
mirror, and allowed her to create an army which quickly bore down on the
Mesa once again.

The Mirror of Tzaraziko, however, still remains as much of a mystery as
ever; unlike its name may suggest, it isn't actually a mirror
whatsoever, rather a pocket hidden high up in the clouds where
unfathomable energies are able to duplicate any who stand within, albeit
twisted forms of themselves. It is from this ability that it eventually
became known as a 'Mirror'. Regardless of this, it adds to the arsenal
available in the unceasing war between the races of the lost cities of
Hallifax and Gaudiguch, as their conflict becomes ever more fierce.

Penned by My hand on the 1st of Tzarin, in the year 243 CE.
