The Nefarious Toys of Yoftie r'Wesmak

Were the bargain deals of the toys sold by the mysterious Yoftie
r'Wesmak too good to be true? Apparently so, as Dynami Zayah of New
Celest was the first to suspect that there was something terribly wrong
with the innocent-looking toys. He noticed that the toys were stealing
gold sovereigns and commodities out of his inventory! Others in the
Basin of Life began to suspect the same thing, notably Geomancer Ayrna
of Magnagora and Lady Adala of Glomdoring who began sounding the alarm,
and finally the trademaster Richter Carthan made a public announcement
warning everyone of the duplicitous nature of the toys. The toys were
able to escape from locked rooms and safes, and move around (though
strangely no one had ever witnessed them moving). They snuck into
people's inventories and began rooting through their packs. Finally,
clusters of toys were found gathered around commodity stores, prompting
cities and communes to increase security in these areas.

Attempting to track down this odd gnome woman, Kiradawea Startail of New
Celest travelled to the Facility in Aetherspace to seek an audience with
Newt Blasterson. The gnome leader advised that there never was a gnome
named "Yoftie r'Wesmak" and because gnomes had a tenet against bearing
false names, it was unlikely that the name was a pseudonym and therefore
unlikely to be a gnome. However, further investigation by Geomancer
Iytha and Sahmiam Mes'ard, both of Magnagora, determined that Yoftie
r'Wesmak was an anagram for "Toymaker's Wife", which could be a clever
gnomish ruse to use a true name that wasn't true. While the gnomes
became very quiet upon learning this new information, reports filtered
through that the Facility was placed on high alert and top level
investigations were being conducted.

Meanwhile, all the troublesome toys have suddenly disappeared. How many
toys did the Toymaker's Wife sell to those eager for her wares? Some
estimates were in the hundreds while others put it in the thousands.
Many were destroyed but where are the rest? Hopefully gone for good.
Hopefully.
