Eulogy of the Golden Father by Diamante

Merit for January 2006

The dawn breaks on an open morn
The twilight dies to be reborn
A silence falls across the lands
As tears fall upon these hands

Memories of an eternity
Fade away with ferocity
The void has called one of our own
A pain is left that can't be known

And as the sun travels to it's peak
My own mind falters, spirit weak
For what was once my foundation
Has broken, fallen, bitter damnation

A startling cry across the basin
Brings about my consternation
The words strike deep, a gaping whole
The Father has fallen to one without soul

Harsh tears burst forth from these eyes
An Elder, Father, a friend, has died
The void has called one of our own
A pain is left, that can't be known

It's sad to think that time will heal
the cursed thing, memory it steals
Of He who gave me a second chance
The Golden Lord, and His brilliant Lance

But in this time of doubt and dark
I will remain, stance strong and stark
The void has called one of our own
But I still remain, His childe known
